The audacity

After our cars, holidays, meat, gas stoves and heating, the European green deal is now hunting after our wood stoves. It’s just about the only cheap way to heat your home left here in Europe. But that is about to end. In the UK and the European Union, the governments and the media have started a smear campaign against people’s wood stoves. Claiming that they are the major reason for air pollution and small dust in the air.

It is incredible how audacious the European governments are bullying common people with narratives that make people feel guilty. And if that doesn’t work they will tax the people out of their wood stoves. As they did with combustion cars and gas heating.

Go woke, go broke

Europe has lost an incredible amount of GDP to the rest of the world and still the leaders don’t see that they are crashing our continent into poverty with this woke “green” legislation.

It is a very sad story we are writing here in Europe!

Since wood is destined to rot and render its carbon to the atmosphere, many people consider wood to be carbon neutral.

I love cooking with a rocket stove. Rocket stoves produce less smoke than traditional wood stoves. Pellet stoves produce relatively little smoke ... although I worry about the process of creating pellets.

Rather than banning wood stoves, we should develop tech to burn wood (and biomass) efficiently.

This is absolutely crazy. You need to buy a country manor with so much land no one can see what you are doing. We funnily enough were talking about the wood burning smog pollution we have here in winter months where he masses burn every every piece of wood they can find to stay warm. The percentage of pollution Europe is adding is minimal to what the rest of the world is doing and does not really count.

For now, nobody really complies, but I guess the time will come, a fire, bbq or wood stove will have to be declared and paid for… 🤷🏼‍♂️
