I don't think I have ever watched a harem anime but according to the comments Arifureta classifies as one. I noticed the anime also has "harem" as a genre tag so maybe the losers in the comments aren't always wrong.
If Arifureta is a harem anime then maybe me avoiding anything with a bunch of chicks on the cover is not completely warranted. Given obviously there is at least one dude on the cover also else it is completely warranted.
Just like real life movies, series you should never watch a single gender focused show or serve them in restaurants is my motto. They are tedious, and serve no purpose like BET TV, TELEMUNDO and the majority of local language channels.
Arifureta however tricked me because the actual cover I clicked through on and watched was not some harem kerfuffle.
As you can see it was a pretty snazzy edgelord kerfuffle. A few episodes in and a bunny appears then it all kinda goes a bit basement grunting but it balances out well.
Eventually when all the females have now been assembled aside from the obvious competition to the main dudes love interest they all make sense in a way.
The story also has placed the one girl, the one on the cover as his only romantic interest and the rest can be described more as horny friends of the cool chick but in an obvious delinquent way that makes it funny how he always has to reprimand them.
Although I said I might give other harem things a try, I probably won't because the interpersonal and obvious lack of any story that will come from something based mainly on people drama is not why I like anime.
I like that the characters are over powered and kill things, and even if Arifureta is a harem each of the girls will destroy anyone's face with a smile. So that is a solid win.
