If you are on @Dreemport then you know this weeks challenge is about discovering GoBrunch. Particularly through their expo event.
Yesterday was day one, and frankly I am a bit exhausted. That is all on me for yapping so much, you would think that I would know better after all these years of being a professional hermit.

Regardless, even I got into quite a few talks with people and gained some insight on the value of networking and really nurturing connections.
Going into this I did have a bit of a misconception of the types of exhibits that will be available, as I very much was in a community discovery mindset. I would say this is not completely wrong though because GoBrunch as a whole is a community, but the individual groups may or may not be as we on Hive understand "communities".
Maybe it is just me, but I thought that was worth noting.
In the end I will include some tips I think can help when you are just exploring and visiting all the different places.
Where I went and what I saw
To begin, I joined the main expo room as linked above. They had a few kick-off announcements but I personally had a few connection issues. This could just be what happens when you have 300 people in the same room. Fortunately with a little persistence and once we all started joining different spaces the issues basically went away. For the most part refresh is your friend then.
One of the first rooms I joined was the Recruitment & Careers room. The presenter had some good information on how companies apply the interview process, and even if you were a recruiter yourself, how you might make your work more efficient.

The links will take you directly to the rooms, but some may be closed, some may have informational videos or slides you can view still.
As some rooms have presentations they deliver, if you really want to know more I would recommend just waiting until it is done and people are more than happy to go deeper into some info.
I don't know if this is mainly because it is online, but the expectation that there is a sort of be quiet and listen event happening was very high on my list. This turned out to not be the norm for the places I was and generally people were eager to just answer questions or dive deeper on their area of knowledge.
The next place I went was the Behaviour Assessment Room and got some free swag. Here I thought I was helping by sharing the link in chat for mobile users but turns out I was just spamming the slightly incorrect link... I got the right link , but kept messing up my copying... I am smart I swear.
Anyway it was a good chat and maybe particular to me some highlighting of the difference between Meyers Briggs and Behaviour Assessment. Hint Behaviour Assessment is far more useful.

Neeeeeeext
I landed in the Nexus of Health room, I only watched the intro video but for the more spiritual and health concious I think the lady will be happy to share more about usefull Herbs and remedies.

Far later, but also in the category of rooms I only spent a brief time in is the Self Confidence space with Michael Cairn where he helps people develop more confidence online and for presentation.

Another that seemed interesting an maybe I will catch a bit more of it in todays expo was the PodUnity room and their "Virtual Rides". So I think this is definitely one to keep an eye on if you want to join the experience.

One of the presentations I caught up on was from Gianna Diggs, a mindset coach. Now this is not exactly my kinda topic but she was surprisingly one of the few who presented a practical application for GoBrunch and to use it in your own Mini-courses or I guess any course really.

A quick room I dashed in was the Vision Lady Ventures and she has a very ambitious endeavour to create a hub for all interests. It turned out to be one of those chats where you or I might even be able to give some insight to others and help them on their journey. Looking forward to see how her plans develop and you can find out more here: https://gobrunch.com/events/356714/536822
Then some places I spent more time than others, one of the more interesting spaces for me was the Brunch Magic room, because it showcases how much freedom a developer has to customize the GoBrunch interface for a rooms attendees.
The room had interactive seats and a live counter of coins collected, it also has animations that trigger when you occupy a seat. It is a very creative use of some freedoms GoBrunch has in what it allows to be stored from the clientside.
I think as GoBrunch develops this will likely have a very versatile API for customization while avoiding any security concerns that might arise from allowing code embedding.

I also enjoyed my time in the Linkedin Success room.

The presenter gave me a lot more info on the worth of LinkedIn and this seemed to be a pattern across many of the spaces. I personally have had LinkedIn for about 9 Years and I guess using it as a email notifier on possible jobs that I will never apply for is not the best use of LinkedIn.
So if you want to leverage some power networking then this is the room to visit and ask how to best use LinkedIn for your career and entrepreneurship.
Having finally quit the job I was at the topic of "3 Signs to leave your job" was actually intriguing to me, and turns out they were all signs I ignored for years before reaching my breaking point, with a little help.
For the main presentation I was alone and took full advantage of that to give my 2 cents and a 10 minute presentation turned into a over an hour talk... Yes I yap a lot. Seasonally.
So if you are in a deadend job or worse not sure you are in a bad place this is a great room to find some objective insight on where you stand in your career.

Last but not least... I hate that phrase but it sounds so fancy.
The SAVVY MEDIA group room, here we got to have a chat about the values of branding. So if you have a active project, service or business this is a valuable room to visit and likely hire them to give you a full assessment for practical steps you can implement to appeal to more customers - users.
The room also has a very good intro video so even if you just want to lurk a bit there is a lot to be gained from a quick visit.

TIPS - I think
For those who have attended you will notice the links I give take you directly to the rooms without going through the Lu.ma event interface. This is because I don't like Lu.ma and find the constant registering and receiving an email setup rather cumbersome.
So for info it is great to use the event list and open the registration page, use the info their to then find the room amongst the little boxes , sometimes the company name is obvious other times I have found the titles are different but I can see the host name or avatar and then click the room which goes there directly.
If you are signed into Lu.ma you can benefit from one-click registration and entering also then it is still convenient enough to use the event list to discover active rooms and join from there.
Sometimes though Lu.ma will show you "get ticket", then it is rather quicker to just try identify the room in the main expo.
... Ok I guess that was just tip.
Anyway
I had a good time exploring and for DAY TWO will visit some of the ones I missed and generally just have more confidence hopping in and out and really looking for things that interest me.
If I don't exactly find a community or repeating event I would like to join in the future, the appeal of GoBrunch is that I can just start my own and see where the endeavour takes me.
Overall the networking experience is quite invaluable, and it is beneficial to do the effort in finding real connections and even just prospects.
