Greetings everyone
Very big warm greetings to you and all my colleagues in the @needleworkmonday community. Happy and blessed needlework Monday to you all; how are you all doing today, and how was your weekend? I hope everything is going perfectly fine. I'm so excited for the ability to be able to participate in needlework today, and I'm here to share with you all the steps I carried in making this beautiful outfit for my newborn baby, who is my husband's nephew.
It has been 5 months now since he came to the world, and I have planned to sew an outfit for him, so his Mom just came and gave me an Ankara fabric to sew for him, even though I didn't have a chance but I decided to suspend everything just to make the outfit for him because it is still in my mind to Make an outfit for him, this is one of the things that makes me feel excited, making children outfit is my happiness even though I don't collect any money but I still feel excited, I was so happy when my sister-in-law gave me the Ankara fabric to sew for her newborn baby, I collected it with joy than the next day I started the cutting and sewing process.
I first started with the senator; I folded the fabric by two, measured out the full length and the shoulder by two, then took down the hamhole measurements, then the body I divided by four after I put in 2inches for sewing allowance and 2 inches for bending allowance then I cut out the neck and the body out
After cutting the front out, I folded the fabric again by two and placed the front on it to cut out the backside. I put in 1.5 inches for the back pleat hold, and then I cut it out.
After cutting the front out, I went to the sewing machine and sewed a straight line sewing for the back pleating and went to the iron and ironed it down properly.
I went ahead and placed the front on the back and cut out the neck and the ham hole.
I now cut out the front and the back band, then I sew them down and slit the front and cut out the fabric pieces and turned them, then placed the flap and sewed it down; after that, I joined the shoulder and the body together.
I went ahead and cut out the sleeves, fixed it on the dress, and gave out the down hem bending. Then, I cut out the fabric pieces bound the nick, and put the fastener.
Here is the outcome of the senator's top
After finishing with the top I moved on to the trousers, I folded the remaining fabric in two, measured out the full length, divided the waist by four, and put in 1.5 inches for sewing allowance, I took down the crotch length, and the crotch width I tool the waist measurement and curved it by 1.5 inches, then I cut it out.
After cutting the front out, I placed on the fabric to cut out the back, I put in 2.5 for the back crotch curve and put 1.5 inches, then I cut it out.
After that, I went and joined the front crotch length together and the back too.
After joining the crotch, I joined the body front and back together.
I bend the waist and put elastic on it; after that, I bend the hem.
Here is the outcome of it.
Wow, it came out so nice, I hope you like the outcome of the newborn baby outfit.
