Before I go any further, the purpose of this content is to recuperate an amazing journey of maize challenge 2022 which was initiated by Comrade @Felixxx. The maize challenge 2022 was to bring about how people could participate in the challenge by showing in pictures and writings from preparation about making ridges, planting, development, harvest and variety things and dishes I made from the maize.
MAKING OF RIDGES.
The first development before the start of growing the maize. The first thing first is to make ridges. Friendly reminder that, after making the ridges I made use of the opportunity to also plant cassava.
PLANTING OF THE MAIZE
The second thing to do was that planting the maize with the method of digging small holes and burying the maize. Each of the holes have three pieces inside and then they were covered with sprinkle of sand.
THE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE MAIZE.
The growth and development of the maize was quite an amazing one considering that it was during the raining season. So the growth and the development was well timed.
HARVESTING OF THE MAIZE.
The harvest was a one that worths it. It all started by peeling off the pericarp and there you have many of them with so many corn on the curb.
DISHES AND VARIETY OF THINGS MADE FROM THE MAIZE.
Pertaining to maize, there are variety of things that can be made from maize. It can be roasted just like it's indicated in the immediate picture below.
It can also be mixed with beans. In Yorùbá land here, we usually called it "Adalu ewa" meaning combination,that's combination of beans and maize.
Meanwhile, some people do not really like the roasted corn, so they prefer to eat the boiled one. That's another means of consuming the corn.
Finally, this is another popular food people make from maize. They allow it soak for days, grind it and us with to make pap.
