WHAT COULD CAUSE DIFFERENT VARIABLES OF BIRDS IN POULTRY FARMING?

As an experienced Poultry Farmer, I have noticed that there are different reasons why we don't have even birds when we rear our Broiler birds to a certain age or weeks. Where Broiler birds are well fed, the sizes of the female Broiler birds ought to be the same, same goes with male Broiler birds but it's good to bear in mind that make Broiler birds are more and always bigger in size and weight than the female Broiler birds.

Here I want to pick one or two points what can most likely cause different variable of birds in Poultry farming.

Before I look inward what could cause the difference variable on these birds, i will like to talk about the variability which has to do with the Broiler birds different in size, weight and height. Like I have said, I will like to talk about one or two points.

  • The number of the birds;the average number of I have reared is 150 birds which has usually be my usual number I use to rear. Rearing this number of birds has made me discovered that you can't have even size and weight from these birds just because of their number. Most times I have compare my birds size and weight to farmer who rears 50 birds, then I came to realized that their birds are more steady in size and weight than I have in my birds due to difference in number that we rear.

  • Another reason I think could cause different variable is when there's no much availability of feeders and drinkers. When you have large of birds with less feeders and drinkers, this may cause their expected even sizes and weight to be worst than expected.

  • Lack of spacious pen; When a pen is faced with over congestion, this might leads to uneven birds in the Poultry Farm because there won't be enough space to move around. Imagine keeping 50 birds and 150 birds in different pens of the same size. One would just realized, the 50 birds are going to be more free than the 150 birds in the same size of pen as that of the 50 birds.
