Long overdue photography tour around Prague, Czech Republic

in #hive-1949132 years ago

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

It´s been almost 3 weeks since we moved to Prague and I´m finally coming with what I promised in my recent update posts - some cool fresh pictures from the city.

The apartment that we rented is located in Stodulky, a residential neighborhood that is actually quite far from the city center and since we were super busy dealing with all kinds of stuff during the first days and weeks after the move, it was not until the last weekend that we finally got to visit the downtown too.

We only spent a couple of hours there though, visiting some of our favorite places (we had already lived in Prague before) and some of the most popular local spots like the Wenceslas Square, the National Museum, the National Theater etc. The panoramic shots of the city that you are also about to see below were taken from various viewpoints found on the Vysehrad walls.

Without further ado, here is the long overdue, yet just little photography tour around Prague ;)

I hope you enjoyed the pictures. As I already said, it was just a short visit to the city center but it was nice to take the opportunity to take some fresh shots after weeks of posting just my regular series and contests here on the blog.

After settling down a bit more, however, I will definitely go for more specialized and hopefully also more interesting photo shootings at various cool locations in the city. I still remember a bunch of those that I used to visit when we lived here years ago and I´m sure that some new interesting spots and attractions have showed up since then too. So stay tuned guys :)

@phortun this pictures are really lovely and nice

Thanks, it was a pleasure to share them with you :)

The photos are so beautiful. Prague is a nice city. So many things to do !

That´s right. Especially now with summer just around the corner ;) Thanks for checking out the photos!

I went there once some years ago, it's a beautiful city, great choice!

Oh you have been here too? I didn´t know. You have been everywhere! :)

I'm sure not as many places as you!!

That´s kind of you but you are definitely overrating my travel "count" ;) The thing with us is that we stay quite long at the places we get to. Usually at least several months, sometimes even years. So technically, we are more like expats than travelers or nomads. So when it comes to the total number of countries / places visited, I´m sure most members of the travel community here on Hive, including you, would beat me at this :)

How nice to see the photos of Prague. The city has a reputation and it is a well deserved one. Keep sharing photos as I love them. One day I'm going to visit for sure :)

Thank you Erika :) If you make it here as long as we are still here, I will be happy to show you around ;)

Thank you for the generous offer, I will definitely let you know if I'm going. Would be nice to meet :)

Absolutely :)

It’s good to hear that everything around your moving is going as expected. Prague really looks like a very peaceful and beautiful city. Wish you all the best. I’m really looking forward for your future posts.

Well, the move and everything around it was actually much more complicated than expected but it´s finally settling down ;) Thanks for your wish and nice comment, I hope my future Prague posts will not disappoint :)

I love Prague! One of my favorite cities and I love their beer too. 😀

Hey, thanks for stopping by! Glad to know you enjoyed your time here :) And yeah, Czech beer is legendary. No wonder we are by far the biggest beer drinkers in the world (per capita) hehe :D

Pražákům, těm je tu hej, ty nikam nezablouděj!!👍

:DD

To samé Krakow, kde jsme teď byli skoro dva roky...

@phortun You have amazing shots finally i saw a beautiful place in other side of the world .Thanks for sharing and have a nice day😉😉

Thank you very much, it was a pleasure to take you on this little tour with me ;) Greetings from the other side of the world :D

@phortun Yeah u made may day 🤣🤣 those photos of yours are for professional photography. What camera did u used?

Thank you but I´m definitely not a pro :) In fact, I don´t even have a camera, I just shoot with my old phone (Xiaomi) :D

@phortun xiaomi phone i think it must be expensive.😉:D

Vzal jsi to důkladně :-)

No moc důkladně zatím právě ne, to jsme si jen na chvilku odskočili do centra ;)

Díky.

:-)

Stunning city with beautiful sceneries. I like the look of those buildings. It's good to hear that you've both returned to Prague to settle for a little while :) Enjoy your time there :)

Hey Trang, sorry for the late reply, busy times... Thanks for your kind comment, I´m happy to know you like the city :)

Great photos mate. I would take the photos of those buildings all day. The bridge reminds me of Budapest. Is that Danube (Tuna) river? I think two cities are similar.

I checked Prague flights last week. It was cheaper than domestic lines :) but visa is a burden for us...

Thanks man :) Not it´s not Danube, it´s Vltava. There are many beautiful bridges spanning the river, including the iconic Charles Bridge. I didn´t know you guys from Turkey need a visa to visit the Czech Republic. Is it difficult to get it?

Yes we need visa for the Schengen Area. The problem is its cost. A visa is about 100-120 Euros, and 1 EURO = 16 TL today. Therefore, almost equals to the price of a flight ticket.

Ah, that sucks. Sorry about that :(

It looks so geen compared to other European capitals. Super summery vibes. So the flat is sorted out. How long are you guys staying there?

There are actually many green spots and areas in Prague, I might write a separate post about it. Well, we rented the apartment for one year but you never know with us :D

but you never know with us :D

Ahaha wandering mind, I like it

Your new home of Prague looks quite delightful!💫

Love all of the scenic "fresh, new" images and look forward to seeing more as you go exploring! @phortun

Upvoted and curated 💯

Thank you very much for your kind comment and generous support Nina, much appreciated! :)

Wenceslas is one of the most picturesque streets in Prague with many beautifully decorated palaces and statues. I love rivers running landscape, it's a very beautiful tour

Thanks, glad that you enjoyed the photo collection.

Visited Prague a few years back, do remember some of those views; thanks for the trip back in memory lane! !LUV

Oh you did? That´s nice :) So you have been to the capital of my country and I have been to the capital of yours haha :) Cheers to Portugal!

I had a good friend working there for a few years; best combo: visit god friends and travel! ;)

Oh!!! It's Beautiful building.

Glad you like the Prague architecture ;)

It was so worth waiting @phortun 😎
Such a beautiful city. Love the green and the river. The buildings architecture is stunning.
Never visited before but it is on our list to do one day.
It looks very vibrant.

Hope you settle in well and have some more time now to explore and get to know the city again after returning 😁
Have a wonderful day 👋🏻☀️☕️

Aww, thank you for this lovely feedback :) But this was just a very little sample of all the beauty that Prague offers, we haven´t even been to the Old Town yet, which is particularly picturesque ;) I hope you will make it here one day. It´s one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, just like Krakow where we lived before moving here. Have an amazing day too!

You are so welcome @phortun 😁
Looking forward to seeing much more photographs of this city. It does look so pretty. I will keep an eye out for it.
Hope we can visit it one day.
My husband is going in 1,5 week for work 5 days to Krakow. But that’s just for business, he won’t have time to do the tourist thing hahaha lol
Thanks a lot 😁👋🏻

Business trip to Krakow? That´s awesome! Can he take you with him? :D

Unfortunately I can’t join as far as I know… 🤓 but I could ask if there would be a possibility. Still enough time to plan actually. 😋 so who knows at this stage.

Stunning! I've got so many beautiful memories of that lovely city and I do hope that I'll get to return one day.
THanks for sharing them:)

Wow, I´m really surprised by how many people have been to this city :) Impressive. Thanks for your nice comment, glad to know you enjoyed your time in Prague.

My husband proposed to me in Prague in 2008.
Maybe there have been a lot of changes since then, but two things that I'll never forget are, the architectural creativity in the use of small spaces (bars, restaurants/cafes, elevators, and showers). The hotel that I stayed at had the tiniest elevator I had ever seen :)
Secondly, the dumplings - Beef Goulash and dumplings were amazing. The dumplings were stuffed with herbs, something I had never thought about doing before. I have never made plain, boring dumplings ever since then:))))

Niceee :) Thanks for sharing your experience with us! I think none of the things you mentioned have changed here ;)

😊😍

I really like Prague.
And your photos turned out to be amazing.
I really liked it :-)

Thank you, I´m really pleased by the amazing feedback on this post :)

5 years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://peakd.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem
