Hello everyone I woke up this morning and I remember my secondary school days about how my classmates usually act anytime they open WhatsApp and I want to discuss with you guys about how I felt the first day I used WhatsApp of my own, but before that I would like to introduce my self to you guys once again. My name is Emmanuel Isaac miracle also know as (aka) Picna. Let me just go straight to the point. During my junior secondary school days I heard about this social media platform called WhatsApp,but during my junior secondary school days,I haven’t gotten an android phone then, let me just say I don’t have a phone but my classmates use to talk a lot about this social media platform call WhatsApp and any time they talk about it, It alway sound so interesting to me but unfortunately for me I don’t have a phone. I went to a private school named st Lawrence greater heights college where we use to have many rich children as classmates, Nigerians always call them “rich kid” or “Ajebo”.Few of my classmates use to have a good android phone back then but your loyal boy Picna don’t have any and that makes me feel uncomfortable.
My classmates sometimes will be seriously talking to themselves and they will be seriously laughing to each other but anytime I go close to them to listen to what they are talking about I will later find out that they are seriously talking about WhatsApp, and as for me I don’t have anything to add to their discussion because I don’t have an android phone to WhatsApp back then, but the discussion is always interesting so the only thing I do is just to listen and imagine how am going to feel when I have a good android phone, Nigerians will say “imagination wan kill me” this mean I’m over imagining things.
Let me just tell you guy the interesting things they use to talk about this social media platform called WhatsApp.
VIDEO CALL
They always use to say that they can call each other by looking at each other’s faces and they can see all what is going on around them during the calling period.Anytime they talk about it I use to feel amazed and I always use to pray to God to give me my own phone so that I can feel the same way they use to feel.
THE SECOND ONE IS VOICE NOTE
They said that instead of you texting, you can just say it and send to the person you want to send it to that means you can voice record and send it to the person you want to send it to.
THE THRID ONE IS STATUS
My classmates also said that you can also post your self,your video and you can also text on your status on WhatsApp but it can only last for twenty four hours (24hrs) that is one day and most interesting part of it is that you can block some people from viewing your status that means is not every thing you post your parents can see and it also sounded nice to me as a student. They went ahead saying that WhatsApp is a very private app to do both the bad and the good thing.
THE FORTH ONE IS WHATSAPP GROUP
They said that this WhatsApp group is like a small community where you can add some group of people together into one place to chat with each other privately and the most interesting part of it is that anybody that is the admin can stop others from texting in the group for a while or till further notice to pass a very important message or to make the group quiet till when the admin decide to unblock the others.
THE LAST ONE IS AUDIO CALL
The went ahead saying that if you don’t have call card to call, you can also use you WhatsApp to call anybody that is online at the moment but you have to use data and that is if you have data at the moment.
All of this sounded so interesting to me so I decided in my mind that anytime I have money, phone will be my first thing that I will buy.After my secondary school education I start working as a librarian in a school. It was very boring without a phone so when I collected my first salary I went to a phone store to buy a brand new phone, I bought an android phone it was a techno phone back then, after that I went register a sim for my self from one Airtel sim shop around my area. After the registration and everything the first app that I downloaded was WhatsApp. When I successfully downloaded the app I went straight to my elder sister to help me register WhatsApp. The moment she successfully register it I felt like I was on top of the world I felt like I was Michael Jackson’s. I went back to each of my classmates houses, to specially collect each of them WhatsApp number and to let them know that I now have a phone that can WhatsApp. I was even forming like a boss anytime I go to church or any social gathering. That was how I felt when I start using WhatsApp.
