Hello everyone,
The current battle theme, disintegrator is actually a great one! This is among one of the cards that I indeed use from time to time depending on the match ruleset.
L͓̽I͓̽N͓̽K͓̽ T͓̽O͓̽ B͓̽A͓̽T͓̽T͓̽L͓̽E͓̽
THEME: DISINTEGRATOR
Rarity: Common
Element: Neutral
Attack: Melee
Abilities: Demoralize at Lvl 1, Trample at Lvl 5, Knock Out at Lvl 8, Retaliate at lvl 10
The one and only lvl 1 neutral card with demoralize. We are familiar with other level 1 cards with the same ability like Molten Ogre or Warrior of Peace, but this being Neutral makes it applicable to other decks such as the death splinter with Zintar. I personally have a gold foil version from opening Chaos packs.
Snippets from its lore:
With the torso of a mountain gorilla, the hind quarters of a crocodile and the mouth of a leach, the Disintegrator is a mismatch of devastating qualities. Its strength is formidable, twisted strands of metal combined with great sinews of muscle. When the heavy forearms and tail strike its foe, it will pummel them into submission without mercy. If that fails to work then the monster’s evil jaws will latch onto its prey, numerous splayed fangs locking onto their body as it sucks the life from them. The obscene golem strikes terror into its foes wherever it goes and it has been known to continue to fight even after the yellow glow of life has left it eyes.
Abilities
I am calling it an anti-melee card due to it's main ability
Demoralize
Reduces the Melee attack of all enemy Monsters, -1 to melee attack, it cannot be less than 1
Trample
When a Monster with Trample hits and kills its target, it will perform another attack on the next Monster on the enemy Team
Knock Out
Does double damage when attacking an enemy that is stunned
Retaliate
When hit with a Melee attack, Monsters with Retaliate have a chance of attacking their attacker. 50% chance and possible to chain which means it can activate multiple times when attacked in a round.
Ruleset & Mana Cap
For the ruleset in this match we have:
Up Close and Personal:
Only Melee Monster maybe be used. Disintegrator shines here
Equalizer:
Initial health of all monsters = highest of all fielded cards
The mana cap is quite good at 48 so we will see some high attack cards and health.
Positioning and Choice of Monsters
Summoner: Zintar Mortalis
Reduction of melee attack is usually a great choice for the Melee only ruleset. Camila Sungazer and Mylor are also good options for this rule.
1st Position: Cursed Windeku
A tank with heal and thorns. There isn't any others like this in the death splinter. Gaining thorns at level 1 and heal at level 5, this tank with it's high health is able to cause huge damage before it's killed off.
2nd Position: Spineback Wolf
Main ability that we want here is the thorns at level 5. Having also the reach ability, this allows the monster to attack from the 2nd position.
3rd Position: Disintegrator
Our theme of the week. This card is a must have for melee only rule set as we now everyone is using melee.
4th Position: Silent Sha-vi
A decent card with good speed and nice damage. Sneak allows it to attack the backline
5th Position: Sand Worm
One of my favorites when it comes to high mana battle, it has sneak and high damage!
6th Position: haunted Spirit
Normally this is a tank, but I am putting this at the back hopefully to tank some hits with the heal.
BATTLE Commentary
Round 1:
The opponent is using a level 4 Kelya Frendul. The addition of speed and armor is quite a good option for only melee attack. The opponent will be trying to get me to miss more attacks while killing of my monster. In the first round, the demoralize kicks in on both sides to reduce both melee attacks. With the added minus melee from Zintar, I was able to reduce the opponent attack by 2. I opened the attacks with spineback wolf, with a speed of 6. However, Eld dodges nimbly to the side evading the attack. With the next highest speed, the opponent attacks my Cursed Windeku with Serpent of Eld, and Deeplurker. Both received thorns damage. Thankfully the melee reduction and the heal allows Cursed Windeku to heal up completely! My counter starts with the speedy Sha-vi hitting Elven Defender followed by the Sand Worm. Unfortunately Cursed Windeku misses the Serpent of Eld.
Round 2:
Can't believe it but Spineback wolf once again misses Serpent of Eld! What a dodge! However similar to the previous round, the damage from Serpent and Deeplurker was all healed back. Sand Worm and Sha-vi continue to attack Elven Defender.
Round 3:
As round 3 starts again, notice that all my monster are still in full health. The same routine will repeat again, but this time Spineback Wolf managed to hit Serpent of Eld. Silent Sha-vi and Sand Worm combined their attacks once more to finish off Elven Defender.
Round 4:
In this round slowly and surely my team damages the Serpent of Eld and from the back, the aim is to remove the enemy's disintegrator. The round ends with the Serpent having a sliver of health.
Round 5:
In the 5th round, Serpent of Eld finally dies from thorns damage. This unlocks the flying squid attack as this monster have the "reach" ability. My monsters continue to attack the enemy's disintegrator.
Round 6:
Spineback wolf attacks Diemon Shark, while Deeplurker dies this round from thorns. Finally Sand Worm is able to kill of Disintegrator thus restoring the melee attacks of my monsters.
Round 7:
Cursed Windeku took some damage from the previous round, but with the enemy only left with 2 cards, my tank will soon heal back to perfect health. Without the debuff from enemy's disntegrator, all my cards have their high attacks once more. Though this round Diemonshark triggers enrage and with a speed of 8, the shark will be harder to hit. Flying squid is taken out this round as Sha-vi and the Sand Worm combined for a damage of 8.
Round 8:
With only Diemonshark left, victory is 100% assured. All my monsters are able to focus their attacks on the shark. A few attacks missed Diemonshark but with Sand Worm landing the +5 melee hit, the shark is finally killed.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Is it cheap?
The gold foil version of the Disintegrator is quite worth it with the price hovering around the 1.5 USD mark for the lvl 3 version. The regular foil comes to around 1.2 USD at the price of 0.088 USD per BCX so definitely go for gold.
Strategies
Excellent against melee. Melee only ruleset or battles where the opponent's card range is melee intense
What do I like about Disintegrator most:
Low level "Demoralize". This makes the card useable from Novice till Champion.
And the fact that the card is a neutral card!
What I do not like?
Limited range of use for Melee battles. Retaliate is also an ability which requires melee attack opponents.
