A walk in the sun || Un paseo bajo el sol [ENG/ESP]

It was one of those days when the heat seemed to melt even the spirit. The thermometer read 38 degrees, and the air felt like a suffocating hug. But for Sofía, that was not enough reason to stay locked up at home.

He tied his sneakers, filled a bottle with water and went out. The street was almost empty, except for a dog sleeping in the shade of a tree and a grandmother watering the plants on her balcony. The colors of the city glowed brighter in the sunlight, as if even the walls were straining to withstand the heat.

The park was nearby, and although it was not the best time to walk, Sofia had always believed that life's small pleasures should not depend on the weather. Upon arriving, he looked for the shadiest path, where the trees intertwined like a natural shelter.

As he walked, the heat was no longer his enemy. Instead, he began to feel the power of the present: the rustling of dry leaves under his feet, the song of cicadas, the sweet aroma of jasmines that adorned a corner of the park.

He sat on a bench, took a sip of water and closed his eyes. The wind, though warm, caressed her skin as a reminder that even the hottest days had their beauty.

Sofia smiled. Because in the end, even if it was hot, going out was always worth it.
