A little Ankara dress for my baby girl

in #hive-1279113 days ago

Hello everyone and happy new week,am so excited today because today has been a great day though i started it with the feelings of being sick but its more satisfying that i was able to finish up my girl's dress.
About this particular dress,i had procrastinated it for a long time,i kept telling myself that i wll fix it soon, but i had been overwhelmed with lots of work .
Well, today was different i had some malaria symptoms which kept me on bed till noon,i could not do anything for myself.

But after some hours i felt i should make use of the day before night fall, and i didn't want my day to be wasted.

So i got this Ankara fabric and i got to work,at first i was still feeling dizzy and at a point my mind was in the work and i totally forgot about how i felt.

Here are the materials i used

  • Ankara fabric
  • Scissors
  • White thread
  • White zip
  • Bias
  • white lining.

At first i didn't have any style in mind but i needed to work with the size of the fabric,it was a six yard fabric but i had the intention of sewing it also for my self and my two daughters.
So i choose this style because i knew it wont take up much fabric

I took her measurements, the length measurements, her shoulder measurements, burst, and waist since it was a free gown i added more inches and i started cutting it out.
I two 2inches for

I cut out the front and the back side of the dress
I kept a space at the back for zip allowance.

I got white bias just to add more beauty to the dress

Finally here is my baby's dress it took me a seven hours to finish it up because i wasn't steady because of my health but am glad that i was able to do something nice for her and my day wasn't wasted.
She wore it with joy and i wish you all will also love it.

Thank you so much for going through my post.
