Hello and Welcome back to my blog!
I come back to Minecraft every few years and every time they add new mobs, structures and other interesting updates. The last major update I followed was the 1.19 update where they added a lot of new things including the underground ancient cities, home to the most dangerous mob in Minecraft, the Warden. But this was back in 2022. And now we are at 1.21.x and my server is the same version.
I didn't follow the last two major updates and we were once peacefully mining in the caves when we stumbled into a strange-looking structure that I never saw. This was part of the new update that came out a few months ago this year.
Me and @bemier didn't waste much time and went straight into it. Once you see it you can't miss it. The walls are made out of shiny copper blocks and the new tuff bricks.
There were some kind of spawner blocks which spawned a lot of skeletons and we were not ready to take on those then. They got @bemeir with those arrows but she came back and we fought them for a while until one of the spawners spawned in a lot of baby zombies. Did I tell you how much I hate them? They are much faster than normal zombies, yet they have the same health on top of that they are just one block high so they can enter many places.
(How was I that confident holding a freaking stone sword in my hand and using watermelon as my food source...lol)
Both of us got defeated by the hands of baby zombies that day. So, we decided to come back to this place after we had full diamond armour and weapons. We were a bit underequipped that day.
A few days after this incident, we mined enough diamonds to cover ourselves with full diamond armour and get all the diamond weapons. It was time to get our revenge!
Look at how Beril runs excitedly as she thinks of chopping off baby zombies' heads. This girl is pure evil. And she is still wearing the skin of a Zombie. So, she shouldn't be excited about killing her family members.
This was a big structure with a lot of rooms and halls. Spawners were everywhere and each spawning a specific type of monster. A typical wave would be 4-6 monsters. Beril had a fire aspect sword and we torched them on fire.
These special spawner blocks would give you a random reward after successfully defeating the wave of enemies. There were a lot of chests with good loot in them. Nothing like an end city loot but respectable for early-mid game players. Books, emeralds, iron, arrows etc were fairly common.
We also found a lot of vases. These are also new items that came out with the update. These were dropping iron ingots with occasional emeralds and other items.
This place was like introducing players to all the new blocks and mobs that were new in this update. I liked this way of teaching players about the new update rather than reading a long list of new items in an update log.
We got our revenge on the Baby zombies. I was screaming for help every time I saw them...lol.
I loved the copper light blocks (can't remember what they are called exactly). There was a mysterious block that we couldn't mine. Oh, and look candles too! I am not sure when these candles were added to the game but they look good. You can make them in any colour.
This place was not easy for a single player. Some of the spawners were close to each other and you would have like two or three triggering at the same time.
Most of the things were under control. Look at how many arrows she took. Sometimes she is a bit too courageous. But we were not prepared for this new mob called Breeze.
It doesn't look too deadly but the fact that it flies and has an exploding range attack with a lot of health makes it a tough opponent. We were not prepared for it. You cannot even hit it with arrows as the breeze will deflect them away.
Shields were so helpful during fights against this new mob. Once you get familiar with its attack patterns you won't have too much difficulty in dealing with it. It drops a new item called 'Breeze rod' which can be used to craft a new weapon, Mace.
The strangest room in this dungeon was a bedroom with four white beds. This room was surrounded by water on all four sides and the only way out (without breaking the walls) was the ladder to the water surface. We carefully examined this room and looked for any hidden chest but couldn't find it.
I bet we missed a lot of hidden things in this place.
We filled our pocked with all the nice loot, took our revenge and explored all the rooms. It was a nice experience. We mined our way out of the structure to the surface and found some nice chunks of diamonds on the way up too.
I don't know when I will stop getting excited seeing some diamonds in Minecraft. I won't leave them no matter how many blocks of diamonds I have...lol. The same is true with Beril, she doesn't even spare Coal and Iron ores. 🤣
