Hello and Welcome back to my blog!
I have completed some story missions in theHunter: Call of the Wild. You can only do these missions if you own that DLC map (even though you can hunt animals in multiplayer sessions without owning the DLC). I have not been taking care of those story missions. Mainly because hunting is much more fun than those missions and I keep distracting myself. But not anymore... I opened one of my least explored maps, the Cuatro Colinas Game Reserve. I don't remember doing a lot of main missions on this map—hardly four or five of them.
I could do a mission called The Devil's Handiwork. Apparently, a goat was missing, and we were tasked with finding out what had happened to it.
You can see the mission objectives, so they just spoiled that you have to track Pradator's tracks. Well, my first guess would be wolves. There are a lot of grey wolves in this region.
But first, I had to go to that place. It was still a kilometre away from the nearest outpost.
It doesn't take a lot of time to cover that distance on my ATV. I stopped in the middle to look at the need zone and see which animals are active around here. It was the Roe Deer, one of the smallest deer in this game. I don't like them too much but they are easy targets.
I decided to cover the last part on my foot to not scare animals and make less noise. I had the coordinates to the location of the missing goat. That took me close to a big tree in an open grassy area. It looks like the perfect pasture land with plenty of grasses to feed on...
My dumb ass started looking around the place and not close to the tree. I don't know how I missed an entire goat carcass there. But it took me a couple of minutes...lol. (Now that I think of it, the grasses get trampled when you walk on it and before I reached there it was covered in grasses... I am just making excuses at this point...lol)
At least, we found the goat...lol. A bit too late though. On the crime scene there were tracks. The warden was surprised to see them come here also the carcass was not eaten too.
Anyways, me and Sheru tried to follow those tracks but they ended up when we reached this rocky place.
And the mission was just over. What a disappointment... I was ready to hunt down that wolf. But nope, maybe the same wolf will come up in the story later. I was not satisfied so I changed my focus to hunting.
Well, I spooked a Roe Deer and saw it running away. Dammit! How did I manage to spook the animals with the worst senses?
This time I was not running around and walking everywhere. It was slow but I got rewarded quickly when I saw another Roe Deer resting on the ground. This one could be the same female for all I know. But this time, it had no idea of my presence.
I approached very slowly without making much noise. There was rain coming down and it helped me because it became harder for them to hear me with the rain noise.
I was using my handgun to get more handgun scores so I could unlock the scope. But it is quite weak and you can see how the first bullet didn't penetrate deep enough to reach the lung. Luckily, the second one did and this one killed it easily.
I found my parked ATV again and I decided to ride it to unlock another outpost. This outpost was more than 2 kilometres away.
It was fun to drive it around the grassy plains. It was smooth and the rain and fog made it even better. But I have a very bad history with this thing. Every time I drive it, I get out of control and end up driving it down a hill.
Something similar happened to me this time as well. I had to go around this lake and I was descending uncontrollably. The ATV threw me off and flipped a few times and then this happened.
It shouldn't be a surprise anymore. I love blowing this up. But now I had to walk up. I got distracted by a '?' on the map. Well, it was a memorial for Dona Garcia. I think she is the mother of the warden.
I went back to my original plan of going towards this new outpost. On the way, I saw how the rain had changed the paths. Loved the foggy weather, it looked so mysterious.
After a while, the fog and rain were gone and the sun started to shine. This outpost was close to the cultivated fields. There were a lot of Sunflowers and Lavender.
I unlocked the outpost and after that hunted for a while. Ended up getting a Gold Roe deer. He had no clue how close I was to him. Later, I killed a Wild Boar too.
Overall, it was a good experience. The mission could have been better but it was overcompensated by the interesting weather and some unfortunate incidents with the ATV again...lol.
That was it from this time. I will continue this story in my next post.
