Hello and Welcome back to my blog!
If you are following our Minecraft series, you would know that last time, we went on an adventure to find a desert so we could fulfil our need for sand (we are planning a lot of things to make in this world and need loads of sand). As a bonus, we found the Badlands biome, which is perfect for gathering building supplies as well. Having this huge supply of colourful terracotta blocks for our building would be helpful.
The only issue was collecting and transporting all these blocks over 3K blocks towards the west. A potential solution would be to go to the End, kill the dragon, find End-ships and get Eleytra and shulker boxes. That is not an easy task and we weren't ready for that challenge yet.
For now, we just decided to note down the coordinates, get back to your base, and plant all the cherry saplings we collected. On our way back, we found a few more villages. This one was just next to a Jungle. We didn't need anything from this village; we had enough resources. I stole their brewing stand, though. It might come in handy later.
When we reached home, @bemier planted all the Cherry tree saplings all around our base along with the sunflowers and other flowers we got from this journey.
We both loved those trees and flowers. She did an amazing job with those trees.
Our ultimate goal was to kill the Ender dragon but we wanted to make our armour a bit more strong so we made plans to upgrade our diamond armour to netherite. But this is not an easy thing to do. You have to mine a very rare block (Ancient Debris) in the nether. Their rates are so horrible and we need to find 4 to just upgrade one piece of armour or Weapon.
And Nether comes with its own challenges like the occasional Lava Pools and nether mobs. So, we needed some Potions! I dug another room under our house for brewing potions.
We collected a lot of blaze rods earlier just for this purpose and now was a perfect time to get some potions. I had to watch a potion brewing guide just to refresh my memory on making all the different types of potions. There are a lot of potions in the game, each made from different ingredients.
After taking a handful of potions we went to the Nether to mine and get the ancient debris. Our strategy was to just drink the 8-minute fire resistance potion and strip mine the netherack.
We just got one piece of ancient debris and we got bored. But getting only the ancient debris was not enough to upgrade our stuff, we needed a smithing template as well. This used to be easier without these templates but now we have to find it in a Bastian chest.
We went in search of one and it didn't take much time to find one. I should tell you how much I hate the Piglin Brute. They are my worst enemies. Just two of them killed both of us in full diamond armour lol. We panicked so hard and got killed. Luckily, the Bastion wasn't too far from our portal. After that, we were very careful and took each step slowly. I had an infinity bow and sniped most of them from a distance.
We came down clearing one floor after the other and looting their chest. If not for my bow, we would be dying a lot of times. The central room was filled with lava with a couple of chests in the middle and a lot of shiny gold blocks.
We got all the gold but the Magma were such a nuisance. In hindsight, we should have destroyed the spawner earlier. Bemier died again from the Magma Cube. She was distracting them while I took all the riches.
And look at that! A shiny new smithing template. This would solve one part of the problem. And we can craft more using this template as well. It had a netherite ingot as well. And we found some more scraps on the other chest too. It was tough to get rid of all the Piglin brutes but that was so worth it. The loot was so damn good.
I put that to good use and upgraded my chestplate. One piece is done we just need like 20 more lol. Damm! It is going to get a lifetime mining all that ancient debris in the nether. We may need to change our mining strategy and I have an explosive idea. xD
