Hello and Welcome back to my blog!
Setting up a free Minecraft server was simpler than I expected through https://aternos.org/:en/
The tougher part was teaching @bemier how to play it, lol. Nah, I am kidding. She is fast learning and learns a lot of things quickly.
Anyway, we started our Minecraft journey looking over an ocean to our east and a forest to our west. It gave me a bit of a jumpscare when I first saw her face. She looked like a Zombie. She doesn't know how this skin changes to a zombie face.
We spent our first-day chopping wood, making the basic tools from wood, collecting stones and upgrading our wooden tools to stone. We found some coal on the surface too and spent the night underground mining and collecting iron.
Stone tools were slow but we found a few iron to upgrade our pickaxes and get our first piece of armour. After mining for a few Minecraft days in this mine we went up to see a beautiful sunrise.
But my Zombie girl was killed by another Zombie. These zombies are now killing even family members, pathetic. I had to punish that guy for doing that.
This was a survival world where we wanted to play for long hours. So, we needed a good place to set up our base. Oh, and did I mention that we nearly started a forest fire? Well, I was experimenting and it quickly went out of hand. (Totally, not my fault).
We took all our important stuff and went to seek out a suitable place for a house. I was looking for a plain biome. I like the flat ground so we don't have to put too much effort into expanding our base.
A plains biome was nearby but we had to fight some Pillagers first and gain control over this territory.
With a snowy mountain on our west and an ocean in the east, we set down on the plains biome and made our first base. It was still unfinished as we needed glass for windows and of course, the beds needed to be placed inside which we didn't do for a few more nights.
There were a lot of animals roaming around these plains and our zombie girl couldn't resist killing all of them. I started to doubt my life choices leading up to this moment as she was killing all of those animals even though we didn't need much food. She was just doing it for the fun. Entire generations of Pigs, Cows, Sheep and Horses were butchered that day.
We made a little wheat farm in front of our house and cleared more of the land in hopes of expanding our farms later.
Our farm was coming along nicely but we were still short on Iron and haven't seen a diamond yet. So, we prepared for a long mining session and went mining. I knew we hit the jackpot when we accidentally stumbled on a mining shaft. There were a couple of cave spider spawners.
We found a lot of iron in these mines. Enough to take us into the Iron Age. We dumped all our stone items and geared up with iron counterparts. Look at our shiny Zombie girl. But, this time she was a Chick, I am still not sure how she changed her outfit when she joined the server. She has no idea too...lol.
But I am not complaining about this one. Anything is better than a Zombie face.
Our First Diamond!
There were a lot of loot chests in this mineshaft some had more diamonds in them along with some much-needed seeds.
After spending a lot of time in the mineshaft we dropped down to a connecting cave and explored it too. We found loads of Iron in these caves. Lighting up the cave and mining all the ores took a lot of our time. It was a big cave filled with monsters and lava.
We made a storage room under our house to organize all the stuff. Things were getting messier with all the things we now had. I trapped our chick inside the flame but she wasn't much afraid.
We expanded our farm a bit more and planted all the new seeds that we got. There were pumpkins, melon and beetroots in those chests. We admired our place from the roof of our house as we watched the sunrise in the distance and enjoyed our apples.
There has been a lot of progress since starting this new adventure. I love every part of this Minecraft world. I will share more in the upcoming posts.
