Testing Streaming on Twitch and YouTube!

in #hive-1402172 days ago

Hello and Welcome back to my blog!

I am happy to report that I have upgraded my GPU to the RTX 3060 and it is a massive upgrade from my old 1050. It is a day-night difference and with that equipped (thanks for the help @felixxx... I will be streaming some POE2 too later). I can now stream easily with even 1440p 60fps. Still testing my PC with games and benchmarks. I had to test streaming as well...right? I bumped the bitrate too much and the live stream didn't show well when it was streaming on Twitch but once I was finished with it, the VOD was crisp. Later I uploaded it to my YouTube channel as well.

I played theHunter: Call of the Wild on very High graphics (I don't usually prefer ultra, in most games you can hardly notice the quality upgrade from very high to ultra anyways).

I went with the Australian map again to hunt more crocodiles and get easy cash. I need to get a lot of cash to buy some camps and put it all over this map. But each one costs a lot so for some time I am just grinding. The other objective was to get a diamond Crocodile or Banteng which is never easy.

Here is the complete livestream I did yesterday.

It was a beautiful evening at the Ruby Coast section of the map and I started going towards the beach. On my way, I spotted many Banteng and a couple of them were big males, they were Gold only though. I shot down Red Fox as well.

I was struggling with the accuracy of my shots, especially during the early stages. I usually aim for the lungs to get the 'vital' organ harvest check done but this time I was aiming a bit higher towards the backbone and missed many harvest checks because of it. I was not properly adjusting for the distance of the prey so the zero point of the scope was a bit off. Anyway, it was a bit frustrating at first but then it became funny as I kept repeating the same mistake.

Look at this shot, I managed to miss its left lung and my bullet went through the gap between the spinal cord and the left lung and hit the other lung. This gap probably just had barely enough space to fit the bullet and this summarised my shooting precision for this session. The game did everything to miss the lung shot lol.

I had a lot of fun shooting these Banteng, I had never seen them on these beaches before and certainly didn't expect a big group drinking so close to the crocodiles. At one point, they were running away from the Crocs and coming directly towards me. Poor thing had no choice but to die. If you look at 29:15 in the video, you will see that encounter. It was the easiest multiple kills I have ever done. I stopped counting how many I killed only at this small place.

I was lucky, as they were trapped between an ocean on one side and hills on the other so they had only limited options to run away. This made it easier for me to take them out. That's why I said the coast is relatively easier because it is free of vegetation and they cannot go into the water.

I hunted until the sun set and it became darker. I don't like hunting at night and it was already a successful hunting session so I didn't even try to rest and reset the time. It also allowed me to take pictures of the beautiful moon. It is much bigger than usual but it looks so good, especially when it is over the ocean and the reflection is in the water. What do you think?

I later used the multistream plugin for Obs to see if I could stream to both YouTube and Twitch at the same time. Turns out I can but I have to change some settings with the Twitch streaming. I could go above the recommended bitrate while streaming on YouTube without any issues but Twitch is kinda not allowing me to. I might have to find a workaround for that or just test with some more streams.

Thanks for reading...

Until next hunt...

I was hoping you get the crocodile first, what happens if you get too close to them amd they notice your movement?

Yes, they can notice me by either seeing, smelling (I don't think they have good sense of smell) or sound. Once they notices my presence they retreat towards the water or in some cases try to attack

Ohh no wonder you bend down, but do there come to you though ?

All I could say is "beautiful" this is really beautiful"
Looks more like a shooting practice

I recommend the Multi RTMP plugin for multi streaming. Let's you configure individual settings for each stream, meaning you can use the ideal encoders and bitrates for each platform. Will require more from your GPU but the nVidia GPUs are so strong for this it shouldn't be a problem.

I just used this plugin to stream to both Twitch and YouTube and both seemed to go smoothly. By the way, what's your bitrate for Twitch? Have you tried streaming higher than 1080p? Is it worth it with limited bitrate?

I use 6000 for Twitch and 10000 for YouTube streaming in 1080p. I don't see any reason streaming above 1080p as most people aren't watching on 1440p monitors, and if they do they rarely keep streams in fullscreen. Most people watch on their phones where even 720p would be enough.

Streaming was one of my dreams too, I used to have a much more active Youtube channel and I had about 250-300 subscribers but I couldn't manage to grow. I hope you succeed in this path man, if you need any help you know how to reach me.

Thanks, bro. I hope you can get back to being active and stream too.

No, I really can't these days. My setup is worse than yours and no one wants to listen someone with that background noise 😂
