Another one off the Bucket List

in #hive-1538508 days ago

Last night, I finally tried out something that has always been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember, and although it didn't exactly go like I wanted it to, what was more important was the fact that I had fun doing it.

If you happen to be an active reader of my blogs, then you must have read a story I wrote about my friend who almost drowned in a pool. Well I don't remember if I said this then, but we both were suppose to get into the pool on that day and I had decided to watch instead because I needed more motivation to get in it.

And after what I saw that day (my friend almost drowning), I came to the conclusion that getting into a large body of water was a no no for me. The fear from watching that whole stuff happen made me realize that I wasn't ready to learn how to swim just yet.

Anyways, last night, the boys and I decided to go to the pool and this was because it was unreasonably hot last night. The entire day had been really sunny to the extent where it felt like the sun was up that night. So we decided to go cool off and due to how hot everywhere was, I did the one thing I was scared of doing, I got into the pool.

Although I made sure not to go the deep side of the pool because I couldn't swim, I still had a lot of fun. One of the guys there had volunteered to even teach me the basics but when he realized that I couldn't even float, he gave up and left.. Lol

Overall, I rate the entire experience a 7 over 10, although that number would go up a lot if I knew my way around the water because the rest of the guys who could swim had a lot of fun, far more than I did. They went in and out of the water like they were fishes and I wished I could.

Hopefully I get to learn as quickly as possible so that I can brag about it just like the rest of the guys do over here.

I am so very happy that you accomplished this. Swimming must be a lot of fun. In the one or two times I've been to the beach, water seems peaceful. I cannot swim yet. You will be a motivation.

Do people learn how to swim at the beach? Wouldn't that be too risky as they could get carried away by the water? 😅

I wasn't learning haha. It was just an interaction with a water body since I'm stuck in a city.

Thank you.

Learning how to swim can't be done in a single day. It needs continuous and regular effort. You can also do it if you practice regularly.

Yeah I know that already.. Everything gets easier with time and dedication 😅
