There was a time I was seeing a movie that had to do with someone doing something bad, like trying to make their own money and stuff (I honestly don't remember the movie or the details of the movie) but I remember seeing that movie and how detailed the entire process was, that it got me thinking that what if someone decides to reproduce all of this stuff and make their own money in real life, it felt like some free tutorial or something.

You see, unlike back in the days, depending on the kind of movie they're making, some of these movies requires a lot of research because the director is trying to make it as believable as possible and although it makes a great film, it also makes a good reference video for someone out there who's trying to perpetrate the same crime in real life.

And although most of these movies ends up with the bad guys getting caught, the lifestyle those guys live in those movie are so enticing that some people actually get motivated to want to give it a shot, after all, they now know what mistakes not to make in order to not get caught by the authorities.

This is why things like killing people for money ritual is on the rampant here in my country these days, because a lot of these people grew up watching these kind of movies, someone sacrificing their friends or family members and giving certain parts of their body to the gods, in exchange for riches and all sort of things.

And I know some of you don't believe in things like this, and maybe it really doesn't work like it does in the movies, but a lot of these people don't know that. They believe whatever it is they see on film, almost like it's the real deal.

The other day, a guy had been caught in an hotel room with a lady that he had tied up in an attempt to kill her and use her for money ritual. Luckily for her, she was able to make some noise and people around had overheard her and quickly came to her rescue.

So yeah if you ask me, those kind of movies causes more harm than good, especially to people who easily get influenced by these kind of things.

But then again, I honestly do not think that they should stop making those kind of movies completely, excluding the ritual kinda movies (that should be stopped immediately). Instead, what the directors and producers should do when making those kind of movies is to try and make some of this things really fictional.

I know they want the movies to feel real, but they don't always have to put out real police procedures on how they fight crimes in those movies but instead come up with their own kind of ways and still find a way to make it believable, that way they will be killing two birds with one stone....it will make their movies look realistic even when it's not, and they also won't be giving out any police secrets on how they go about fighting and solving these cases.

Sort:

I like the idea of protecting the secrets of the police and important agencies because it could end up educating the wrong people who will be more careful when perpetrating crimes in real life.

Exactly my point bro.. Educating the bad guys will only make it a lot harder to catch them when they do this crimes.

There is no problem making a movie realistic. I think it's good but as you said it's not necessary to share the procedure of police because it can alert the criminals.
