Not Your Usual Sunday

I know that seeing how today is Sunday, if at all I wanna write about something realistic, it should probably be on a positive topic. You know, something on kindness, being good and all that stuff, but I won't be doing that today, I will be doing the opposite of that.

You see, right from an early age, I've always wanted to be that guy who was always the good guy, the guy who was loved by everyone because of how kind I am. So what I would do everytime was to go out of my way to show kindness to people, totally ignoring the many warnings my dad had given to I and my siblings about how dangerous the world has gotten and how people are always looking for ways to prey on good people.

Fast forward to many years later and after multiple encounters between myself with these kind of people, I've come to the conclusion that my dad was right.

Being kind is a good thing but just like everything else, when you overdo it, it becomes a problem because everyone starts to think they could exploit you.

So I guess the message I'm trying to pass here is that in all you do, make sure to use your head.. What that means is that rather lead with your heart, lead with your brains instead. Know when you're helping someone and when you're being exploited.

What motivated today's post was due to an encounter I experienced some time this evening. Someone from my hostel had walked up to me to ask for financial assistance, not knowing that I had overheard her talking to her friend about how she was looking for someone to give her money she needed to add to the one she had, so that she could buy some luxury item for herself as a gift.

And then when she walked up to me, she had lied about being ill and needing money for drugs. She had gone down that route because her friend had told her that I would give her the money if it had to do with something as severe as a health condition.

That whole thing got me pissed off because it makes me feel so gullible and what's even more upsetting is that fact that I probably would have given her the money if I didn't overhear that conversation.

Anyways, like I will always say, don't let people change you into something you're not, just be wise..

I think the situation was kind of ridiculous to you🤣. I hope you enjoyed her acting. I feel you can recommend here to play the role of actress if she acted well in front of you.
