Hello everyone, this topic is an interesting one. I would love to talk about my favorite dish.
My favorite food is the fishermen's soup. It is one of the local dishes eaten by the ibibio's. It is called the fishermen's soup because of the contents of the sea fishes. It can be prepared with melon, okro, or with achi. But I prefer it with okro. I love the taste that comes with the different kinds of edible proteins in the dish. It is a very proteinous dish
It is a dish you can eat and enjoy different kinds of seafood. It comes with the taste of the fresh fish and fresh crayfish. It can be eaten with garri, semo, and fufu.
The first time I ate this soup was when I visited my mom's village during the holidays. My grandpa went out to visit his friend who was a fisherman living close to the riverine area and came back with fresh fish, oysters, crabs, lobsters, and others. My grandma called us to help prepare it. She prepared it with okro; it was the most delicious soup I have ever tasted and very nutritional. Since then, it has become my favorite. And because it was delicious, I wanted to learn how to prepare it in different styles, and so my grandma taught me how to prepare it.
This is a dish I would love to introduce to others because it can be prepared with any soup of your choice. For those that don't like okro, they can still prepare it with melon or achi. Since I love it with Okro, I would like to share the preparation process. .
How to prepare:
Wash and steam the fish, crabs, lobsters and other sea edibles you have and set aside.
Then, in another pot, cook your okro till soft.
Then fry your sea edibles with palm oil, and then add the stock water and add some ingredients to taste, then let it steam.
Add the boiled okro and taste it to see if everything is moderate. Once it's ready, you can eat it with any swallow of your choice. I love enjoying mine with Garri.
