Hello everyone,
Hope we all are good? I have a handcraft I would love to share with us today. I had a piece of unused towel which I turned into rags to wipe the foot at home. But I became tired of it and even the colour so I used it to produce this Footmat you are seeing here. Actually this is my first time making this.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Any strong material of your choice
- Ruler
- Pen/pencil
- Hot melting glue gun
- candle for the glue gun (I used about 2)
- Bobby wool:
- Black (two and a half)
- Red (two)
- Grey (One and a half)
THE MAKING
You need to first have an idea of the kind of design or pattern you would love to make. In my case, this is the design I opted for.
I used the pen to make drawing of what I want to design. I drew lines joining them to form about 16squares.
I put on the hot glue gun by plugging it to an electric source of light. Once it's heated up, I untangle the wool and wrap it around the ruler in a spiral form. Just about the height of each square box.
I apply the glue from the hot glue gun to the wool at just one side of the ruler.
Then I placed this on the square box and I used scissors to cut the wool, separating it from the ruler.
The wool will stick to the material. I repeat this process until every square box is filled up. Make sure each placement is close to the next.
I actually lined the edges of the material first with black wool. But this is not compulsory.
So that's how I made this beautiful Footmat. You can try it too. It's not expensive to make.
Handcraft is really fun and I enjoyed every bit of this.
I'm thankful there's a community like this where skills can be shared.
Thank you for reading.
