I remember the old African story of the Lion and the Gazelle. Every morning the lion wakes up, preparing for the new day and ready to run more than the previous day. The gazelle on the other hand wakes up with the same thought in mind.
The question comes, what is the reason? Why do they have such mindset?

The lion knows that if is doesn't run that fast he may not catch up with the prey (gazelle) and may actually die of starvation. The gazelle on the other hand also knows that if it doesn't run that fast, it may be caught by the predator (lion) and that will be it's end.
So each of them actually run that fast so as to survive.

Same thing applicable in the human world. Everyday the human being wakes up, he determine to do better than the previous day.
On the quest to achieve greater height in business, politics, academic, entertainment and every other sphere of life, they seem to see the other person as a threat to their success. As such, some people want to pull down the other person which thy see as a threat, while some others stay on the defensive mode.
It's quite pathetic that man has now become a prey to another man, and man sees a fellow man as a predator, all these because man striving to survive.
