Potato perfection; vegan potato sausage roll recipe

in #hive-1805693 months ago

Hello everyone, welcome to the plantpoweronhive (Vegan) community, where you can show your vegan recipes and also learn from others in different countries as well.

I will be preparing a potato sausage roll for today, so let's get into the details of how I did that.

Ingredients are:

Flour (300g)
Potatoes (4 pieces)
Butter (1 teaspoon)
Oil (300 ml)
Baking powder (half teaspoon)
Sugar (2 tablespoons)
Chilli powder (5g)
Curry powder (2g)
Thyme powder(2g)
Onion (1 small ball)
Salt (1 teaspoon)
Seasoning cube (1 cube)

Procedure

I peeled the potatoes and then put them inside a pot, added water and salt, and then placed them on the burner to boil.

I poured the flour inside a clean bowl; then I added baking powder, sugar, a pinch of salt, and a full teaspoon of butter. Then I made use of my hand to mix everything thoroughly.

Now it's time to make a dough. I added a teacup of water and then made use of a hand to mix it until it formed a dough.

The potatoes were already cooked, so I sieved the water away and then packed it inside a mortar, and then made use of the pestle to pound it until it was blended and smooth.

The next thing I did was add ingredients to the pounded potatoes.

Firstly, I added the onion, which had been sliced already, then added the curry, thyme, and chili, then made use of a spoon to mix it until the ingredients influenced the potatoes.

Lastly, I added one seasoning cube and salt, then mixed again.

Let's bring everything together and see the outcome.

I sprinkled some flour on a chopping board, cut a small dough, and then made use of a rolling pin to spread it out.

I took a small quantity of the potato sauce and put it on one side of the spread dough. I made use of a knife to cut lines on the other side.

Then I folded it up. I have already put a frying pan with oil on the burner, so I just put the potato sausage inside.

The same process was applied to the rest of the dough.

I fried on low heat until the sausage turned golden brown.

Now my potato sausage roll is ready, you can have it with any chilled drink of your choice.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to drop a comment for the vegan potato sausage roll.

Hi @princess-dara

This recipe is very well presented and developed, we congratulate you for it.

However, remember that butter is not a vegan ingredient, as it comes from cow's milk. Margarine can be a vegan ingredient, as long as it is dairy-free. Next time, we would like to see the margarine components you use in your recipes in this community.

On the other hand, the cubes or cubes for seasoning are NOT vegan ingredients, as they include in their composition ingredients that may be of animal origin.

Keep these observations in mind for your future posts.

I am so sorry for not doing my research on the seasoning cube before using it. However, butter is a common name we call margarine here in Nigeria; what I used is actually margarine, and here is the picture of the remaining sachet of the margarine.

I will take note of the corrections

An amazing recipe 👍
