The last COVID-19 lockdown wasn't something one would choose to happen again because it was somehow hell for some kind of people. I remembered we were preparing to write an exam while I was in the 300 level in the second semester. We were all sent home and school was on hold until further notice and the lockdown went on for months.
It was then we were ordered compulsorily to participate in online classes through Telegram. It wasn't interesting to me and I never attended any lectures but was always active in blogging. This was when I was still on the defunct Uptrennd Platform.
When school finally opened, the first week was scheduled for an exam. Do you know how it would feel like as a student who has been used to being at home and didn't read? There was nothing in our brains and to make the matter worse, our first paper course title was “Crisis intervention.” Sighting the questions, it was indeed a crisis. All students were hissing, murmuring and whispering to themselves for answers 😂😂 Is it not someone who knows the answer that will tell you? Lol.
I did what I knew and to God's glory, I passed the course. But it wasn't easy that day in the hall because I couldn't cry.
During the lockdown, many people died due to the deadly disease and most due to hunger because offices and organizations were halted too. The lockdown made people realize how the family is so important to spend time with and also, made people see the need and advantage therein in making money online. There was chaos too when people who couldn't survive the compulsory stay-at-home due to lack of food, start to vandalize and destroy people's properties and took away their stuff. No one prays for such a thing to happen again.
What if it happens but this time around, it's an impromptu lockdown?
When something is impromptu, it means it wasn't announced beforehand. At least this would give people an edge to plan things to survive. Stocking food at home, making sure things are available to make them survive till the lockdown is stopped.
For a person like me, I love being indoors but when it goes longer than what I do not want, things get to bore me, I feel easily irritated and my body won't accept it again. This impromptu lockdown should meet me where I live alone because I wouldn't be able to stand it seeing my family going through such a situation.
I am someone who stocks her room with food even before they finish. I wouldn't mind if the world should go on another lockdown because seeing the food I have at home, it should be able to last me 2 months to survive because of one thing — my gas. I refill my gas and it only lasts me 2 months and I don't have an electric cooker or hot plate to aid me in cooking in case there is light.
I wouldn't have a problem during that period of 2 months once there is constant light because I will be able to work online and make my money till when the lockdown would be lifted.
Since no one yet knows when it will end, I still do not wish it happens because I might cook myself indoors because of too much staying in the house without seeing anyone or even going out to refill my foodstuffs once it is exhausted.
I love food and if after two months of surviving, my food finishes, how do I cope? Food is the boss of a person's life and it determines your next move towards work. If you do not fill this stomach, there is no way you can do other things because, in my tribe, they say hunger cannot come to you and still give room for discussion. It's impossible!
A hungry man is an angry man. You will end up getting angry at the gadgets you are working with and you will be tired of life itself. Of what use is the light without food at home or in the stomach? Think about that 😂
I don't think I would survive after that 2 months because my gas will finish, and there is no way I will go out to refill since what is happening to me is affecting the whole world. This means no going out until when God says it's time to release this people from the torture 😅😅
