5.00 am early morning, I woke up thinking I have to go to work. I completely forgot that today is my day off. My sleep follows my daily routine, I have been working hard for the last couple of weeks so I have got 3 days off from work. I haven't decided yet how I am gonna spend these nice 3 days' vacation. Probably I will go to another city or will see some new places, I don't know yet.
Anyway after waking up, when I realized that I don't have work today, I decided to spend my time working on my own things. Due to my job schedule, a lot of work had been pending so I decided to finish those during this vacation. At first, I took Gigi out after freshening up, it was still dark and the sun has not risen yet. But I like this moment walking with Gigi because the weather and the environment are so calm and relaxing. Gigi also feels relaxed walking early morning because she can do whatever she likes. I let her walk freely and I don't like to pull her at that moment.
Sometimes I feel Gigi follows my path, we both like calm and quiet ambient and we both enjoy our walk in the lonely park or streets. She sniffs around, looks at the sky, and sometimes chases lonely seagulls. She loves her morning walk. She knows her walking time and often stay ready with her own collar and leash.
After our nice walk, we came to our room and she directly went to the bed after drinking water. I had decided to start my day. Around 6.00 am, I started organizing our room. My room was really messy. Meanwhile, Gigi started taking her nap. At 7.00 am, I went to breakfast and spent some time in the dining area. I have a regular routine, during breakfast and dinner time I talk to other people who fled from Ukraine and we spend time with each other. Most of the time we greet each other and start talking about our current life situations. Two of my colleagues have decided to go to Kyiv, Ukraine in September. They won't stay there, they are going just to take their documents because they are students.
Even many Ukrainian people are going back to Ukraine and coming back to the Netherlands after staying a few days in Ukraine. I don't know how it works for foreigners. I asked people from Kharkiv whether they are going to Ukraine or not and they said, not now. Here, in my shelter, many Ukrainians are busy doing jobs, almost 85% of people are working now.
An incident happened recently in my shelter. An Individual took drugs and consumed a lot of alcohol and tried to commit suicide. Her roommate was at work at that time and when the roommate returned she called the police instantly seeing her condition. The lady was depressed and that is why she consumed a lot of alcohol. I don't know why people do that but the police said that the lady lost her mind due to her psychological condition and couldn't stop drinking. She also has a drinking problem as well. The lady's daughter lives in another city, later she came and took her mother with her.
A lot of things happen in our shelter, and so many abusive incidents happened here including stabbing and suicide. All the incidents proved how fucked up people's minds were due to the war situation.
Anyway, later I went to the superstore to buy some organizer boxes. I have been thinking to buy some boxes for keeping my clothes, GiGi's toys and food. I don't have many clothes but I felt, it needs to be organized no matter how many clothes I have. My initial plan was to separate winter and summer clothes but later I changed my plan after seeing the price of the organizer boxes. I ended up buying 3 big boxes and a basket.
It took me around 2 hours to clean the entire room and organize all the clothes properly. I am happy with how everything turned out so far...
Now it is around 4.00 pm. I probably go to the city center in the evening but I don't know yet. It's hot outside so it depends on my mood whether I wanna stay in the room or go out.
Anyway ending this post by sharing some amazing photographs from "Bereg", Kharkiv Ukraine. I have written a lot of articles about this place before; including a lot of videos. I used to spend my vacation there in this Bereg Resort Complex before the war. So, now you can compare before and after life situations, drastic changes happened within a few months. The war changed my life completely...
Bereg was my go-to place after Baden Baden last summer. We used to do the BBQ party here near the river. We used to reserve the cottage 1 week ago so that we could get cheap deals.
Have a great summer everyone... See you soon...
Thank you so much for reading...
