Here are some sub-topics that we are going to discuss :
- Predicting the type of opponent attack 👊
- Best move 🏃 for specific ruleset :
a. Broken Arrow
b. Keep Your Distance
c. Lost Magic
d. Earthquake
e. Up Close and Personal - Tournament Achievement 🏆 Weekly Report
- The announcement of Giveaway #78 🎉 Winner
- Giveaway #80 😎
Alright, let's jump to the first topic :
Well, this is the most important technique
in Splinterlands because Splinterlands is a game of mind 😗. We have to guess the opponent attack and movement 🏃 perfectly in order to win the match. One thing that we have to remember is that there are three types of attack, Melee 👊, Ranged 🎯 and Magic attack 🔮. With the help of ruleset, we can eliminate the attack that have high possibility to "NOT"
being used in the battle. The table below shows how to anticipate any kind of attack based on the ruleset :
Number | Ruleset | The possibility of attack |
---|---|---|
1. | Broken Arrow | Magic and Melee |
2. | Keep Your Distance | Magic and Ranged |
3. | Lost Magic | Ranged and Melee |
4. | Weak Magic | Melee and Ranged |
5. | Up Close and Personal | Melee Only |
After knowing the attack that might be used in the battle, the next step is to determine
🗡 whether we will use offensive
strategy or
defensive
🛡 strategy. Both attack and defense have weaknesses. It does not mean ❌ that the offensive strategy is always better than defensive strategy and vice versa. The decision to use either attack of defense is determined by the hypothesis
🤷♀ / guess towards opponent strategy. If the we believe that the opponent might use attacking monsters like Yodin 🦊, Valnamor 💦 etc, the best strategy is defensive and counter the attack. The table below shows the list of offensive summoners along with their counter :
Type | Summoner | The Counter |
---|---|---|
Melee | Tarsa, Malric Inferno, Daria Dragonscale, Possibilus the wise, Plado Emberstorm | Zintar Mortalis, Mylor Crowling, Camila Sungazer, Chanseus The Great, Crypt Mancer |
Ranged | Yodin Zaku, General Sloan, Fernheart, Selenia Sky, The Peakrider, Prince Rennyn | Contessa L'ament, Ilthain Lir Deepswimmer, Quix the devious, Mimmosa Nightshade |
Magic | Delwyn Dragonscale, Obsidian, Alric Stormbringer, Valnamor, Archmage Arius | Thaddius Brood, Bortus, Owster Rotwell, Sthispa, Grandmaster Rathe, Immortalis, Mimmosa Nightshade, |
There's a balance between summoners who can give buff and de-buff, this is intended to create balance
⚖️ in the game between attack 🗡 and defence 🛡 or counter power. In the other side, If we do believe that offensive is the best way to win the match, we have to make sure
the defensive would not
❌ able to hold and counter
the attack. this is very important in Splinterlands battle. So What side are you belong to guys? offensive or defensive team? Feel free to put your answer in the colomn section :).
Alright, Now, let's discuss about some cool 💯 strategies in some specific given below. In my opinion, there's always some basic template
monsters and summoner in specific ruleset which we can use over and over. In this sub-topic, there will be 5 rulesets
along with basic strategy and the most used monsters :
1. Broken Armor
Strategy | It depends on mana, in low to mid mana , the opponent tend to use melee 👊 monsters so melee counter or melee buff can be used but in mid to high mana, players prefer to use magic 🔮 monsters because the attack could hit HP directly instead of armor. So magic buff or debuff is needed at high mana. |
---|---|
Recommended abilities to be used | Demoralize, Inspire, Silence, Phase, Void, Shield, Retaliate |
Recommended monsters to be used | Disintegrator, Silvershield Knight, Death elemental, Djinn Oshannus, Void Dragon, Living Lava, Forgotten One |
2. Keep Your Distance
Strategy | All melee monsters are not be able to use, so the main focus are at magic 🔮 and ranged 🎯 attack. In low to mid mana battle, player tend to use magic monsters because they can attack from the first postion. At mid to high mana battle, the combination of magic and ranged might be used so the summoner like Mimmosa who can reduce magic and ranged is very strong here. |
---|---|
Recommended abilities to be used | Silence, Phase, Void, Return Fire, Headwinds, Shield |
Recommended monsters to be used | Elven Mystic, Chaos Agent, Phantom Soldier, Cornealus, Light Elemental, Lord Arianthus |
3. Lost Magic
Strategy | All Magic monsters are not able to be used in this ruleset so players can only use melee and ranged monsters. I would recommend to put monster with shield 🛡 ability in the first position to reduce all damage by melee and ranged and monsters with high ranged 🎯 damage in the backline like Axemaster 🔨. |
---|---|
Recommended abilities to be used | Shield, Repair, Demoralize, Return Fire, Headwinds, |
Recommended monsters to be used | Serpentine Soldier, Lone Boatman, Deeplurker, Wave Brood, Naga Windmaster, |
4. Weak Magic
Strategy | At Weak Magic, Magic monsters are still able to be used but the magic lose it's power to penetrate to opponent's HP directly. The attack will hit the armor first. So the strategy used is similar with Lost magic : Shield monster in the first position and ranged attack 🎯 at the backline , the difference is, we can put magic 🔮 monsters in the middle of melee and ranged, since ranged monsters can not attack in the first position. |
---|---|
Recommended abilities to be used | Rust, Shatter (to destroy the opponent's armor) |
Recommended monsters to be used | Flamesmith, Sporcerer |
5. Up Close and Personal
Strategy | Only Melee monsters can be used in the battle so the option is to debuff the opponent melee monsters using demoralize and make our melee monsters stronger using buff like inspire ability. We can also use Thorn ability to inflict -2 damage whenever the opponent attack our monsters. |
---|---|
Recommended abilities to be used | Inspire, Demoralize, Thorn |
Recommended monsters to be used | Tusk The Wide, Demented Shark, Hydra |
Alright guys, all 5 above strategies can be used whenever we met those ruleset in any battle. If you have any ideas or opinion, feel free to put it in the comment section :). The next sub-topic is about all of the achievements I have done in this week, here it is :
