Firstly, I would say I'm so happy about this topic because it reminded me of how confused I was about the subject to teach when I wanted to go for my first teaching practice last year. I'm a lover of these two subjects (English language and literature in English), but I later came to the conclusion that I should teach English language because it is wide and covers even the areas of literature. I was one of the best in secondary school then, and I'm still doing well in them here at the university.
I am a bona fide student of the department of English, so what subject would I even teach again if not for English? But apart from being an English student, naturally I'm a fan of the subject "English language," because then, if I'm being asked why I love English, I'll tell them I don't know and that I just find myself in love with it. Funny right?

The English language has structures and components.
English language is an academic discipline taught in primary, secondary, and postsecondary education. It comprises the study of literature (especially novels, plays, and short stories), English composition, which includes writing essays, short stories, and poetry; English language arts, including the study of grammar, usage, and style; and English sociolinguistics, including discourse analysis of written and spoken texts in the English language, the history of the English language, English language learning and teaching, and English linguistics (syntax, morphology, phonetics, phonology, graphology, semantics, lexis, etc.). All these are treated with distinct and adequate measures in the subject or course English.
One thing I love about these structures of English is that one can't be equipped with all of these mentioned above and below and still speak badly or make errors.
The grammatical system of English contains number (singular and plural), tense (present and past), aspect (perfective, progressive, perfective-progressive), and case (singular and plural). Voice (active and passive), mood (declarative, imperative, interrogative, subjunctive, and exclamatory sentences), and polarity (positive and negative answers)
The English linguistic features include graphology (the way a text is arranged or organized). e.g., capital letters, punctuation marks, underlying, ellipsis, etc. Phonology is the study of the sound pattern in a text. e.g., repetition, rhythm, rhyme, parallelism, etc.), semantics (this relates to the meaning of a text), syntax (this considers the structure of a text), and lexis (relating to words or vocabulary of a language).
I would choose English as a subject to teach over and over again if I were to be a teacher because it is systematically planned, arranged, and prepared to give the best outcome.
IMPORTANCE OF ENGLISH SUBJECT
English is almost certainly considered one of the most important subjects that a student can learn in school. Each and every one of us should have knowledge and learning when it comes to studying the English subject.
The English subject is often split into two main topics that can help a student improve his or her skills in the language. I mentioned earlier that there was a time I found myself in a confusing state because I couldn't just choose between two subjects I liked, but later had to go for English because it is two subjects in one, so I wouldn't miss literature that much because it is also found in English as another subject. The two topics present in English as a subject are English literature and English language. When we talk about English literature, it is simply the study of different books and writings from authors past and present. One of the important aspects of studying this English literature is that it allows every student to develop their ideas and ethical standpoints.
However, when we say "English language," it is the study of the language itself. It is the method of human communication, either spoken or written, consisting of the use of words in a structured and conventional way. The importance of this one is that it helps students learn to read and write well, how to use the English language to its greatest effect, and how to be creative with the language itself. When we combine these two main topics, we learn that studying both can increase one’s vocabulary, increase creative ability, and teach about the history of the language and the culture from which great writers were writing their books.

why I would choose this particular subject.
English is a Lingua Franca, which simply means that it is the most universal language. It is a language systematically used to make communication possible between people who do not have the same mother tongue. English as a Lingua Franca is the use of the English language as a common means of communication for speakers of different first languages. Learning English may also give us better insight into our indigenous language and other languages we know.
In the process of studying the English language, we make use of different communication methods: verbal communication, non-verbal communication, written communication, and many other forms. Communication plays an important role in the process of conveying more knowledge and ideas as well. Communication is a way of interacting with people to transmit a message the speaker wants to convey to the receiver. In order to communicate properly, we must use the correct pronunciation, because pronunciation affects how we understand the meaning of the words. The delivery of a word can be different from the real meaning it has, which can be a form of improper communication, and that may lead to a lot of misinterpretations. To avoid this kind of mistake, we need to teach accurate pronunciation, and that can only be accomplished with the help of the English language.
In using the internet, as we have observed, the majority of websites are written and created in English. It is the primary language of the press; more newspapers and books are written in English than in any other language. It is just normal and dominant that you will be able to find more information regarding every subject if you can speak this language.
In the aspect of traveling and doing business, if you have a good understanding of English, it will be easy for you to travel around the globe because it is the international language for foreigners, and it is much easier to get assistance and help. In business, English skills will also help you in this part. If you visit some offices, companies, and government organizations, you will see the importance of English. In big companies, they usually hire a professional and educated employee who has a good command of English.
The following is what makes English unique from any other subject: And for these reasons, it has captured my heart. English is a subject I'll teach if I were to teach in a school because of the following uniqueness:
English as a subject has rules of grammar.
English as a subject has letters that make words that need to be pronounced and spelled correctly.
English as a subject demands vocabulary and clarity of thought.
The study of English has positively affected the students as it broadens their minds, develops emotional skills, and improves the quality of life by providing job opportunities.
Core skills of the English language
These skills are essential for learning the English language (listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills).
Another reason I would choose English is because it has benefits. It is not a subject you would learn and not benefit from. We'd consider the following as benefits of the English language:
Perfect communication: it helps to speak effectively. People are impressed by those who have good communication skills.
Gain Confidence: If you have good communication skills, your confidence will automatically be high.
Achieve your goal early. Effective English language skills help you meet your career goals quickly.
Effective personality: When we speak effectively and with confidence, anyone can get attracted.
English is a part of the global world. So, a good English speaker tends to interact with others easily.
Multiple Career Prospects: A person with effective communication skills has more career opportunities than others.
Thank you for always reading; I love and appreciate you all😍.
