Apathy and Flower
In the forest, where pines whisper with wind,
Apathy lived, experiencing languor in soul.
In gray darkness she forgot about laughter,
And her days flowed by like monotonous rain.
One day Flower met Apathy on the way,
He shone with bright petals throughout entire area.
"Darling, why are you so sad?" -
Flower asked, looking into her eyes.

"Why do we need joy and fun on earth?
Everything decay in this empty and soulless world.
Let the shadow envelop and captivate me,
It will hide me from storms and from worries."
Flower smiled hearing these words
And answered quietly, but confidently:
"Darling, everything will end eventually,
But joy is still better than sadness."
Flower blossomed and extended his petals,
He approached Apathy and touched her tenderly.
"Look, how bright sun is shining in sky!
Every life has meaning and beauty!"
Apathy looked up to clear blue sky,
And sparkle of joy lit up in her eyes.
She felt warmth, peace and hope,
And she did not notice when Flower had faded.
At some moment he just stopped being happy,
He forgot why he was smiling and where he was going.
Apathy replenished her herbarium and moved on.
