My 5 cents.
For tea we have obtained special ceramic containers in Chinese style, their low height and wide neck are perfectly designed for in/out operations (not to mention the fact they are stylish - taking tea from them is very pleasant!). But coffee is another deal.
In our household we use this old Nescafe glass jar from 90-es, probably due to our love to old things. Dont get me wrong - we are not in love with Nescafe (nor the brand, neither the fact it is a huge transnational monster, like Amazon; I personally avoid to buy anything from such sellers and dont support their growth as a customer). But 90-es was a harsh period of life when ex-USSR citizens simply tried to survive and used all we could. This jar is kinda a silent witness of an epoch... the first touch to “luxurious” consumer life of the rich West / Europe, lol.
This jar is old and pretty much weared-out, you can see the decorative plastic film is teared up at various spots and peels off, but we simply don’t notice it - our eyes are used to it. And my hands also got used to finding this jar always in the same place, on the shelf next to the coffee grinder. Also, note the jar is flat and takes up little room; available room is rather a deficite at our house, haha.
We obtain coffee beans in economic 1-kg packs, and dont take too much experiments with different sorts of coffee. Well, sometimes we buy this and that too,-- but we know what we like, and most of the time obtain exactly the same packages. I have a _big_ cardboard box under the table to keep these packages, and when the jar became empty I simply refill it from the current open package. As simple as that!
PS. forgot to mention -- dont have any special jar for ground beans at all, lol 😛
