Are Coingecko candies are worth your time?
I am in the habit of checking the market price of some of my favorite coins daily and Coingecko is my go-to site for this purpose. Even today, I keep collecting the candies daily, though my candies balance is now sitting at over 22K candies and I have no idea if I can redeem these candies or not because at present most of the "redeem rewards" are subscription discounts. If I do not need those subscriptions or do not want to purchase those subscriptions, then "discount" is no use for me. I think these rewards are useless for the majority of us and on top of that these candies are non-transferrable so there is no market for them.
Though these candies rarely offered any practical purpose to me, I still collected them because they are free and I am not logging in site to claim them, but I do log in to the site to check the price, and claiming is the secondary process for me.
But recently, 2 of the "redeem rewards" caught my attention, not because they are good but because they are completely useless and in some sense they might cause you to lose more money.
1. Norma In Metaland Adventure.
You can redeem the 300 coin gecko candies for the 20 candies in this game and you ned to sign into this game using your Google UID.
But what exactly 20 candies of this game is worth?
let's find it from Coingecko site (source location ; https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/candy-token)
CANDY Token (CANDY) Price Today
The price of CANDY Token (CANDY) is $0.00 today with a 24-hour trading volume of $0.00. This represents a 0.0% price increase in the last 24 hours.
Where can you buy CANDY Token?
CANDY tokens can be traded on decentralized exchanges. The most popular exchange to buy and trade CANDY Token is N/A, where the most active trading pair CANDY/GRAM has a trading volume of $0.00 in the last 24 hours.
When I checked, they are not worth 2 cents and you are sharing your Google id for it. Seems a very bad deal.
2. $20 USDT Casino Bonus from Decentral Games.
This one is even worse than the first one as this is a casino bonus. So if you are a gambler, it might be good for you but if you are not one, I will never suggest becoming one for this airdrop. These bonuses are not new but I think seeing this kind of bonuses directly getting promoted by a site or seeing the advertisement is a little different. We are more like to go with direct promotion (that can be a bad habit forming) instead of advertisements that we generally ignore.
My 2 cents.
We can still claim the candies or leave them as "rewards" that are not worth the effort, but do not redeem candies to any of their "free offers" and DYOR first. You can trust your safety and well-being in others' hands in today's world.
