I have been working on this publication for a while. I seem to have been having too many appointments. I finally saw an eye surgeon and have scheduled my surgery for the end of the month for one eye and in mid-June for the other. I should have had the surgery in 2021, but between dealing with the long-term effects of Covid, taking care of someone dying from cancer, and then my wife's health leading to her passing, I just could not squeeze it in.

My load is now easing up, and I have no choice. I have not been driving after dark, and during the daytime, I am having trouble seeing. I don't like surgery, but no vision outweighs that concern. I have also noticed some photos are not as clear as I would like. I always have some images I cannot use blogging, but now there are more. Peak flowering does not arrive until July, so my vision should be better by then.

My cover photo is a close-up view of a beautiful pansy. The following photograph is a little different view of the same flower. Pansies do well in cooler weather, but if kept watered do okay as the temperatures heat up.

Each year I grow a couple of geranium plants. I can sometimes take them into the garage for the winter. I could not take many flowers into the garage this past winter, so I bought new ones. The red is most commonly grown around here. I am sharing two different views of the flower here.

My final photograph is of some tulips I bought and placed in a container. I bought them after they had started to grow. I received other bulbs last fall, but because of everything that was going on, I forgot to plant them. I want to grow them in containers because rodents love to eat the bulbs during the winter. I still tried to grow the ones I received last fall, but they did not grow. I believe they need the cold of winter to begin to grow as the soil warms in the spring. I have yet to check, but I hope the bulbs are okay and I can get them chilled this winter.
