Have you ever sat alone and find yourself feeling sad or unhappy? If you’re being asked the reason why you’re happy, you may not even be able to explain why such is happening to you. I’ve had this feeling so many times and makes me sometimes want to stay away from my friends or people around me and whenever I’m in this situation, it’s usually obvious because there is no way to hide it.
Some people tie this down to adulthood thinking that this only happens to adults but no. You tend to see some kids sometimes too sitting and feeling lonely. I feel that’s just like the moment when you want to be alone. If you entertain too much of this moment or attitude, you’d be writing a letter to depression and it will or may be difficult to get yourself out of such situation.
Has this ever happened to me?
Yea, it has happened to me countless times. There are times when I’d be dull and feel like crying and when you ask me what’s up, I won’t even have anything reasonable to say. This happened to me sometime ago and made me stop using WhatsApp for a very long time. I didn’t reach any of my friends for a long time until I was able to fight that moment and bring back myself to life and also be the happy girl I have always been.
How do we keep this in check?
Firstly, you have to be well observant. You know yourself. You can tell when you’re happy or sad. Take good note of yourself and be able to notice things fast about you. Your depression level does not have to get to its peak before you’re able to know that you’re depressed.
Put this into check by noticing your everyday lives including the things you don’t do before. Once you notice some new or negative acts, you should act fast before it gets out of hand.
How do we stop such things from getting out of hands?
I’m sure some people will say music. Well, music is a kind of good therapy that can be put to use in situations like this but before then, you need to identify your happiness. You need to have an idea of that thing which is bothering you and then find a solution to it.
You may find a solution to it and not be happy because your body system may be used to that depressed state of mind and this is the time when you will need to locate your happiness and work towards it.
How do we stop ourselves or avoid being in that situation again?
Firstly, everyday cannot be a good or interesting day. That’s one thing I know but once you find yourself sinking in that boat again, you have to divert your attention to those things that make you happy. Once you do that, you’d be able to get out of that situation fast.
Life is full of ups and downs and it is not something we can runaway from. Even kids who know nothing much about this life sometimes feel sad. That’s life and the best way of feeling alive is being happy.
No matter how bad our situation may be, we should nit let that situation snatch our joy.
It’s really important.
