🦉 The western yellow wagtail (Motacilla flava)

📚 Motacilla lat .: mōto, mōtare move continuously, -cilla tail (cilla like a tail - only in ornithology, erroneous established name)
📚 flava flavus (lat.) yellow, gold, golden yellow

These yellow birds can always be found in open spaces such as meadows or fields. They arrive at the beginning of May, when there is still no dense vegetation and thickets, and the whole territory is clearly visible. Therefore, it is at this time that it is very good to observe these birds. Moreover, they are not particularly afraid of people and can easily be approached at a reasonable close distance.

Since these birds feed on insects, they fly away for the winter early. According to my observations, in mid-August they are no longer in their places. Although their urban relatives, white wagtails, can stay up to mid-October.
