🦉 The common rosefinch (Carpodacus erythrinus)

In olden times this bird was also called the "red sparrow", although it is a completely different species. These birds arrive from wintering late, around mid-May, when the trees are already beginning to bloom and the foliage appears. The males occupy territories and begin to sing songs. They sit on a separate branch and sing a song that sounds like "Nice to meet you!". This is what makes the bird popular.
These birds live exclusively in bushes, and it doesn't matter where they are, near the river bank, near a field, or in the forests, the main thing is that there are bushes.
The bird is completely herbivorous, eats plant buds, seeds, nuts and berries, and sometimes feeds nestlings insects.
