🦉 The common redstart (Phoenicurus phoenicurus)
- Phoenicurus Greek: dark red phoinix, oura tail
These beautiful birds arrive at the end of April or the beginning of May, depending on the weather. In different sources it is written that this bird settles in dry light forests, however, this is not so. I met these birds in dense dark mixed forests, as well as in coniferous forests but with the presence of bushes. And once at the end of April I saw them in the steppe in the meadow, apparently they were in the process of migration.
In addition, the bird settles in parks, groves, and even in city courtyards without problems. At the beginning of summer, I constantly hear the songs and voices of males sitting in the bushes near the entrance.
