Hello everyone, good day to you all.
It has been quite a while since I heard any form of innovation from any sitting government here in Ghana. Is it because we are content with what we have here? Are there enough jobs to sustain us all already? The obvious answer that we will all give is a big NO.
We are faced with the challenge with having to fend for ourselves by indulging in petty trades even after our tertiary education due to the simple fact that there are no jobs available. Even the ones existing already are chocked as well.
We have seen the government try to mitigate the situation by providing temporary employment to the unemployed in our society. This is how the NABCO group was formed. This allowed people to work in some sort of position for a year or two and be paid an allowance. I call this an allowance because you don't expect a graduate to fend for him or herself with 700 cedis per month.
I think a permanent solution should be created now that they are levying practically everything. Isn't the sole purpose of these taxations for the betterment of our country? We need to therefore see it reflect as such.
If you won't remove this e-levy, then at least try and use it to its best capacity. Build projects that will seek to employ numerous ghanaians. Projects such as Banks, Hospitals, Factories, and so on. Once the government does so, many more ghanaians will be enrolled in our payroll and can be able to also sustain themselves in our communities.
It is high time those in power stopped telling the youth to go and focus on enterpreneurship. People go to school because they want a stable job and if they are good in their fields, the government should do its part in creating opportunities for them. Thank you.
