“Ayam Pramugari” is a popular restaurant in Banda Aceh that serve fried chicken with special local sambal (condiment). It’s named “Pramugari” as the legs of chickens are long and the restaurant is located just next to the airport. Pramugari is Bahasa word that means “stewardness”. So Ayam Pramugari is “Stewardness Chicken”. It’s for sure a popular chicken restaurant in the capital of Aceh Province, and we love to visit the restaurant.
The chickens were fried along with curry leaves and pandan leaves. They fried chickens emitted special aroma as they were also added some local traditional spices.
Another special dish of Pramugari Chicken Restaurant is boiled beef as it’s called “Sie Reuboh” in Acehnese language. What makes it special is the treatment of Sie Reuboh - the boiled beef is then fried along with special secret spices.
As we may look at the pictures below show the cooking stoves are made of used drums. They modified the drumes for cooking the chickens. I found them pretty interesting.
And here my son enjoying the fried chicken of Pramugari Restaurant. My family and I often visit Pramugari Chicken when we travel to Banda Aceh.
The restaurant is located just close to Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport, Blang Bintang, the Great Regency of Aceh Province.
