ENGLISH VERSION

The albino path was too bright for Nicholas, he could see nothing but snowflakes falling, thicker and thicker, colder and colder, yet he had to continue because the presence was still hovering.

In the midst of the whistling snowfall, he heard the footsteps of a figure that he could not define - only a shadow - a specter was what was present.

The tracks of his footsteps were quickly erased in the snow and at the end of the path a small light could be seen, a window, a cabin.

With the snow up to his knees and that feeling of being overtaken by something unknown, he pushed with all his might to a house in the middle of tall cypress trees.

He pushed the door was ajar to enter and closed leaning against it; closed the door, some calm returned to his body, the shadow that haunted him was gone.

Beyond the cozy room filled with red satin furniture, in the background, two figures were arguing; slowly he crossed the space, announcing himself timidly so that his arrival would be noticed.

-Hello? I stopped because of the storm, something was chasing me, I think? -Without stopping moving forward, he approached the couple who kept shouting.

The screams became louder and a disturbing buzzing sound caracoleaba in the ears of the newcomer, after a series of steps, Nicholas was stunned to realize that those who were fighting were his parents.

But, it couldn't be them, they were his childhood parents, it was some sort of strange memory coming to life before him.

-Of course I know you slept with her, they did it in our bed, where you swore you would love me, you piece of asshole," his mother threw the half-empty glass of red wine on his father's white shirt.
-How can you say that, you have no proof, no sense in what you say, come on, are you going to throw away 22 years of marriage for an assumption? -The father wiped off the purple liquid with a blanket.

Nicholas turned his face and as he looked in the mirror he realized that his reflection was not his current 42 year old adult version either.

It was him, about 10 or 11 years old, crying and screaming; as he looked back at his parents, he heard his own voice coming from his reflection in the mirror looking back at him.

-Stop it daddy! -I've seen you kiss her when you looked for me at school, confess that you are having an affair with that schoolgirl.

The father looked with disappointment at Nicholas, saying nothing, being sure that when he turned to his wife his marriage would be over.

Behind his back, the door suddenly opened, the presence was returning, as he saw the mirror again it was again his 42 year old self and behind him a dark reflected shadow was about to catch him.

As best he could he dodged its capture and leaving furniture lying he ran towards the door he felt moving away, outside the house he could see the night and behind his back the shadow whispered the phrase "it's your fault".

Nicholas crossed the door into absolute darkness, falling on his face, but this time he did not feel the cold snow but a cold and solid surface that wobbled from side to side.

He cleared his eyes realizing he was on a ship in the middle of the most unforgiving storm any man ever wished to be in.

He looked down at his arms covered in starched cloth, with golden buttons embossed with the word "Captain".

Where was he, and what was all this?

Nicholas ran across the deck holding onto the gunwale, he came to a cabin where a beautiful wooden rudder was spinning uncontrollably, the waves threatening to capsize the heavy ship.

The sea bed seemed to be seen as the boat overcame the gigantic swell, heavy sea monsters were tossed about by the gale, the red and black night was filled with sparkles that gave whips of light reflected in Nicholas' pupils.

He clung to the helm and closed his eyes as a huge wave burst the cockpit glass, he tasted the salt water as the fresh water hit hard in his eyes, again the shadow appeared before him.

He staggered as he fled out of the cabin, he stumbled and in the middle of the night and a raging sea he fell into the water, now he was drowning, from the boat sinking into the sea the shadow saw him shouting "You won't be able to escape this".

Nicholas opened his eyes, the thicket of a Green mountain permeated his sight, his body still shivered with cold, he was in the jungle, on the banks of a copious river, with storm clouds beginning to fill the sky.

What now?

He knelt on the bank of the rushing stream, the lightning began to hasten the announcement of a squall.

Tired, resigned to the torments that seemed to have no end in sight, Nicholas lay in the fetal position listening as horrendous thunder rolled across the Amazonian firmament.

Whimpering like a frightened child, with the drizzle bathing his body, he could hear his grandfather's voice saying "Don't be afraid Nicco, the thunder is just the sound of two clouds colliding..."

-And they go Boom! -said Nicholas in a loud voice.

Like a revelation, the ideas became clearer and like one who can do what he wishes, Nicholas began to find the courage to speak to the storm, to control its lightning and flashes, to become powerful.

The shadow appeared in front of him, but it was no longer threatening, just a familiar figure, his own self, clear before his eyes.

-Nicholas you have always been your executioner and Savior," said the shadow slowly, "you have always blamed yourself for the separation of your parents, but a child will never be blamed for the problems of adults; as an adult you have faced storms overcoming your weaknesses and setbacks, learning continuously, but you keep running away from yourself and others, from your unlimited power, now you have discovered that you can control even the most insurmountable situation;

The shadow continued speaking: "at this moment I will count to five and you will wake up knowing that you will be able to overcome your traumas, one, no one will ever make you doubt yourself, two, you will be infinitely happy, three...".

Suddenly, silence took over everything, the clouds began to turn gray and dark again, the shadow became a threatening specter again, everything was starting again.

The days after the event his body was found, everyone thought he was in a coma due to a stroke or something similar; the reality is that he remained lost, trapped in his guilt, freeing himself as a hero in his trance time after time, he never returned to the real world, he remained forever in the eye of the storm of his guilt and thoughts.

-¿Hola?

-Nicholas siempre has sido tú verdugo y Salvador -Dijo la sombra pausadamente- te has culpado siempre por la separación de tus padres, pero un niño nunca tendrá la culpa por los problemas de los adultos; como adulto has afrontado tormentas superando tus debilidades y contratiempos, aprendiendo continuamente, pero sigues huyendo de ti y de los demás, de tu poder ilimitado, ahora has descubierto que puedes controlar hasta la más infranqueable situación;

So, the last count would have woke him up right?
So many people are trapped in their kind of person or wickedness. This is why we must ensure to always come out of our real self to embrace greatness.

It's a nice story we have here...

Hahahaha i can tell that because ill be an spoiler ;) but yes.

oh wow!!!

You know, I've actually thought about things like this before... where they have those youtube videos with the specific sound waves to calm your mind. I always wondered.. how do we REALLY know taht they aren't putting something menacing inside those videos! hehehe and I've been afraid to turn them on to try to sleep with them - because what if there are subliminal messages in them? hehehe

I loved the ending to this story! It was so unexpected! But very believable as people can place their trust into hands of people (and channels) that can do so much damage! Just thinking about that countdown that never finished... trapped! hehehe this was SUCH a great concept! Really enjoyed this read :) nicely done with the prompt!

Thanks you very much, i have this fest too, hahaha never awake of that hipnosis lol
