It’s All In Our Head

in #hive-1679222 months ago

I woke up today feeling like I need to treat myself good, I needed to order a take out instead of leaving the house or cooking something. Most times we compensate ourselves that ordering is luxury and cooking isn’t, may be because of the work it takes to cook or step out to go get what to eat. You know how people always talked eating fancy restaurants is luxurious even though they cost more and less in quantity. Most times, after you are done spending huge amount of money you end up going to your house to eat to your satisfaction. But do you know that most times what you call a luxurious food is because of the location, you pay for the aesthetics of the location than the quality of the food.

I ordered creamy pasta, when the food got to my house, I was so disappointed because it cost so much and was so less. I started wishing I cooked it myself because the quantity didn’t match the price. But because I said I wanted to treat myself nice and get a luxurious meal, I ended up buying what I didn’t like and I regretted it badly. It was all in my head to value something and call it luxurious because it had a luxurious tag attached to it, but there was nothing special about it, just cream associated with the pasta. Something I could have easily done at home.

Sometimes, it's all relative in our minds and we might look at the same thing differently from one day to another. I think many of us tend to associate luxury with aesthetics, for the most part.
