Wow!!! You know that they are numerous ways we can get scammed but we don’t realise it until we have a deep thought about it. Do you believe that raffling is one of the biggest scam in the world? But guess what it’s legal, can’t say much about gambling though but activities that guarantees only one winner but huge amount of participants seems like a huge scam to me. But it’s so normalise and no one is saying anything about it because it’s legal and legit. Let me give you a scenario with a dead house.
SOURCE
So a man sees a beautiful stallion in a horse field and was interested in the horse, he asks the owner how much for that horse and the owner said $1,000. He comes back after 1 month and gives the owner $10,000 but didn’t know where to keep it, so he told the owner he was going to come back for it, after one week he comes back and the owner says, sorry the horse is dead, the man got angry and said “can I have my money back?” The man said sorry, I don’t have it, I have spent it. The buyer was like alright no problem, give it to me, I will raffle it.
Few months later the buyer and the seller met again and the seller asked the buyer who bought the dead horse, “did you raffle the dead horse”? The buyer said “yes I did”. And the seller was like were they not angry and he said well, he raffled the dead horse, there was a winner, he was angry so he gave him a refund. Now this is the context, he didn’t state specifically in the raffle that the horse was dead, he stated, entering a raffle for $50 to get a grown horse. Now if you are one of those people that like trying their lucks with raffles, the reward to risk ratio is very small, you are risking $50 to get a horse worth $1,000 which is a lot of money, that’s 20X what you are risking. The money is so small that a lot of people can afford it, and because it’s small, a lot of people can afford to risk it. There is a winner and the winner saw the horse, rejected it and got refunded. The other people that participated have successfully helped replace the buyer of the dead horse loss.
That was smart but that was not right, but technically it’s like buying a horse mystery box if it was put that way though.
