Earlier working from home was not common but after the pandemic, this is very common. There was no option for the companies to opt for who was from whom because the world was in lockdown. It was a tough time for everyone but this option of working from home has helped a lot and this has helped the employers as well as employees of the company. People stayed employed even when they were working from home and even now when we have completed four years of the lockdown then also many companies have opted for the complete work-from-home model. If we deep down then we will figure out that now there are different methods of working. Some companies have gone back to the previous model which was from the office every day.
Work from Home or Hybrid
Some of the companies have completely gone for the work-from-home model and they don't want to go back to the traditional model which was working before. Now there is another category which is called hybrid where the companies are asking their employees to visit the office premises for a couple of days a week. Some of them are asking for one day or two days and possibly three days also and the rest of the days they can work from home. This number of days is completely dependent upon company to company and how they want to proceed but basically what they are doing is asking the employee to visit the office as well as perform at home and this model is called a hybrid model.
Work from Home is better
I think that the work-from-home model is better because of certain reasons. Employees get flexibility as they can save travel time and they can utilize their time for their learning or to add more value to the work. They are also able to have a balanced life in which they can keep time to work as well as family and this is what helps them to be strong mentally. They are more connected to the family which was not the case before and now people are more happy. Work from home model is convenient because people can choose the way they want to work however this is not a possibility when you visit the office premises because you have to follow some decorum there. However, it's not working in my case because I do freelancing, and for that work, I don't need to visit the office because of all the work I get online method and I hardly need to visit the office once in six months.
Hybrid is also not bad
This model is a mix of work from the office as well as work from home and some people like it. They like it because they do need not to visit the office every day and they can work from home for a few days. This way they get convenience when they are working from home and they are also connected with people in the office when they are visiting the office for work. People believe that for learning and to have better connections with the team and other people in the office it is important to visit the office premises and with this model that is easily possible. You can also choose the days you want to work from the office or from home which is quite flexible and most companies are providing this flexibility to the employees. Still, people can save a lot of time on travel and cost is also saved because travel is expensive and no matter how you commute but certainly there is some cost involved. You may not be able to save the entire cost and time but still, it is not bad that can make anyone happy in the hybrid working model.
Some of my friends have left their jobs because their employers were forcing them to visit the office and they do not want to work from the office anymore. They quit their job and join another organization that offers them the convenience of working from home. This is a new thing that started after the pandemic and now some people don't want to visit the office because they feel if they can work from home then why should they visit the office and spend time travelling? After all, it is a waste and doesn't bring any value to the work as well as to their life. Visiting the office once or twice a month is okay with them but they are not fine to do more than this and if it does not work then they are also ready to quit the job. So this is why I believe that our from-home model is a better option including hybrid which is also part of performing home but the complete where from office is something that many people are not happy with and they do not want to continue.
