Bangladeshi traditional sweet is nothing like any typical dessert. Instead, it's enriched with sweet delight popularly made of chhana (a style of cheese), thickened milk cream, fried, and sugar syrup. There are so many names and varieties depending on the locality, we can't even name all of them nor have we tasted each and everything.

A few days ago, I went to one of our popular sweet shops from my hometown. The shop was packed with traditional sweets, I was so excited to see all of the varieties together. I have instantly tried some too.

Let me share my experience.

The shop is called Mohua, and it's located right in the middle of Rangpur City. Mohua Bread & Confectionery is such a popular name, also the shop is old enough. It's probably nearly 50 years old.

It's best to visit this shop early in the morning, before noon. Because the shop is so popular that people make themselves empty in no time.

The shop is nothing fancy and very small. They made almost 30 different sweets, a few kinds of cakes, and bread. Also, they have biscuits, chanacur (spicy snacks), and nimki.

They don't provide any sitting, the shop is takeout only. But if you like to taste some before buying, do can do it but you have to be in a standing position.

I'm not gonna name all of the sweets because even I don't know. But I can name the popular one, for example, the one dipped in sugar syrup is called Rashgulla, the black one is Kalojam, and the reddish one is Gulabjamun.

The white big one of the most popular sweets is called Cham Cham. It's so delicious, you probably can tell by seeing the photo.

It's our tradition to bring some sweets when we visit anyone's house or attend any invitation. I have been there to buy some before going to my aunt's house.

The shopkeeper offered me a sweet, it was a new addition, and it was so delicious I ended up having some more instantly in the shop. The price of the sweets varies depending on the variety. I would say, the price is very reasonable, not so high compared to different branded sweet shops.

And I can guarantee you, these sweets from this shop taste much better than any brand shop. I always prefer and recommend Mohua Sweets.

Have a good day, everyone.

The post was so nice. It feels good when I meet with people from my own country in an International site. 😊

Good to see you, homeboy.
Thanks.

Me encanta que rico y provocativo se ve. 😋😋😋

Same here. Thanks.

The bread in the last four pictures really makes my mouth waters.

That's not bread, that's the sweet I'm talking about. It's called Cham Cham in our native language.

I don't like sweet things so much, but seeing those traditional sweets, I'll buy them all, they look very delicious.

I also don't have a sweet tooth but they were really good. I didn't mind having some.

You got us drooling with the foods. I'd love to have one. 🙂

I know, right? I wish I could share :)

Whoa, that's some good looking and unique kind of sweets. If foods has cheese and milk, then no question ask, it'll taste good no matter what.
