The city is expanding and so is my stress and worries!
Every day there's a new building, it feels like they are mushrooms, growing out of nowhere, in a day. My eyes hurt and so did my soul. Can you see any escape from this mage?
Surprisingly, this is the less crowded part of the city. The main town is much more full of highrises. We didn't leave any inches to let our worries vapor.
Finding peace in this chaos is not easy. Fortunately, our creative souls always find a way or make peace with this. Every day is a rush here. And why it wouldn't be? When life is about struggling and surviving rather than enjoying it all should rush, right?
I sometimes forget to step aside and breathe!
On a foggy afternoon, I went to the terrace of my mom's house, or I should say the building. The house doesn't feel like home anymore, it's just a concrete structure, like a cage, with many apartments, like a human coop.
The terrace is the only place from where we can see the sky clearly without any interruption from the highrises, and where we can breathe.
What a dull life we have created!
Life is not about creating or being creative here but it's about building survival tactics. I see the faces of people with wrinkles telling their stories about struggle.
Just like the terrace in this new building. They cut down a mini forest to build this and now they are trying to build a rooftop garden. We did the same, we all do the same.
We cut down every option to live and choose to struggle more in life, in other ways. Most of the children can't practice any creative skills but they have to go to educational institutes to get a 9-5 job. There's nothing wrong with this but this social imbalance is so eye-soring.
However, we dream, we dream big. We dream to make a difference, we do everything to make a better life for the next generation. But the thought of 'we didn't leave anything but ruined everything' never goes out of my head.
Hope is the only thing that shows me a path to find peace in this chaos.
There's no place in the name of mine in this city and I am okay with it. I don't need a cage or a coop rather I would build a hut, far away from this chaos. Where I still can wake up by the bird's chirping rather than the traffic; where I can sit beside the river rather in the traffic!
Maybe not today but someday for sure.
