The riverside of Teesta - Where my soul meets nature!

My hometown visit never felt fulfilled until I visited the riverside of mighty Teesta.

You may ask what's so special about this place. The answer is 'nothing'. It's a simple place like any other riverside in our country. There's nothing significant here that can be tagged as a tourist spot, but this simplicity is what attracts me the most.

This is where I can peacefully spend an afternoon without worrying about the hustle and bustle of life. This is the place where my soul meets nature.

I'm currently on a short visit to my hometown to see my mom. On the second day, my heart was saying 'riverside'. I must come and enjoy a lazy, calm, peaceful afternoon or evening here.

And that's what I did.

The name of the place is Mohipur Ghat. This river is a channel of the mighty Teesta River. There's a bridge that connects the villages to our city. It takes an hour's drive from Rangpur - Bangladesh to reach here.

You can hire a boat and ride around the river. There is a marketplace beside the river where you can find the local food and tea. People come here to fish also. Some just walk beside the river to enjoy the refreshing breeze.

I went there for nothing but to sit under the tree and see the gentle waves of the river.

Usually, some local fairs take place now and then. Many vendors come with rides, food stalls, toy and fancy shops, etc. Fortunately, nothing was happening at that time so I could enjoy the peace.

I could see the activities of the random goats and cows that were strolling around, the fishing, the playing of the local kids, and the glow of the afternoon for hours.

Probably I'm the old soul or maybe our soul is so very connected to nature that when we stay in the city for long, it craves something so simple like this.

My day ended so well, without any interruption. This riverside makes it happen to let me enjoy an afternoon like this after so many days. As an introvert, this recharged me for probably a whole year!

I'm posting this in a community where people usually post their significant world tour or the museum or the vibrant breathtaking nature sight.

And here I am with a simple view of the local river. That may not impress many, but it's understandable. But this is the place that never fails to amaze me. This simplicity is what I crave and make me come back again and again.

Goodbye river Teesta, goodbye Mohipur Ghat. See you again.

I thought Teesta would be a dried river like the Padma in my area. It seems it has more water in this late November though still the sandy island is exists here. What is the depth of water in this part you have been to? I hope you have a pleasant time there.

It's dried out in many places, even the other side of the river looks like there was no river as farmers were growing onion and veggies.
But this side seems deep, although I never rides in boats and don't exactly know the depth of the water.
Thanks for your interest. Have a good day.

Oh, I see! Thanks for your kind information, wish you a good day too.

Amazing views

Thanks a lot 😊

Welcome

What a wonderful riverside view! It is peaceful. Great shot 💕

Thanks a lot for your complement. The place is closer to my heart.

It looks so beautiful to see so many boats out fishing.

The boats were for the tourists to ride. You can see people are fishing standing on the riverbank. They are using local nets not the fishing rods, maybe that's why you didn't notice 😊😊
Have a good day.
