When I visit my hometown, I must try the famous bakery. I love the fragrance when I pass by the shop. Their food tastes the best. They are not like the popular chain shops, but the food feels like home, which I love.
The shop is small, has two branches in Rangpur city, it's called Dhaka Fast Food. They sell all the locally popular bakery and snack items.
Let me show you around.
As I visited the shop before the day of Christmas it was full of themed cakes. I love seeing so many colors in cakes.
The best thing about this shop is they are very reasonable. For 1 pound of decorated cake, they only charge $6-$10!
These two caught my eye, they were simple yet I was craving to have those red and green toppings!
But guess what my son chose to have? The white simple one!!
They have many options in 1/2 pound cake. But my son asked for this white one. I only paid $3 but the taste was nice.
We were not buying cakes for any particular reason but to satisfy our craving. We bought some other snacks too for the afternoon.
This is the snacks corner. They have pizza, burgers, fried chicken, muffin cakes, tea cakes, cream rolls, our local cakes; etc.
As you can see the shop offers various options but all of their food are pre-made. Even the fried chicken and pizza are already on the counter. So they will reheat and serve you.
You may not like the facts but many prefer this place because of the homely taste of their food.
We bought Patishapta Pitha (the one on top), burgers, and a white cake. The pitha was very good in taste, they were filled with Malai (milk cream) and wrapped with soft bread.
The burger was not authentic in taste but I love it because it gives a comfortable home feeling.
And the cake was not over the top but fine in taste.
The whole meal costs us around $10, for a 1/2 pound cake, 2 burgers, and three Pithas. I believe that's the best price.
It was a fun-filled afternoon with good food. Every year when I visit my hometown I try to have something from this Fast food shop. They hold the same taste and that's what I love the most.
What do you say? Does the food look good to you? Would you try in such a bakery?
