Recipe of The Day | Let's make Omelette Butter Curry Leaves

in #hive-1205869 months ago

😎Today is a public holiday, specifically Thaipusam, celebrated by the Hindu community. Even though I don't celebrate it myself, I'm happy to have a day off because it's a public holiday in Malaysia. With the extra time on my hands, I thought about finding something tasty to eat. That's when the idea of making an Omelette with Butter and Curry Leaves popped into my head.

Usually, this recipe includes prawns, but I decided to keep it simple and just focus on the omelette with butter. I got the ingredients together and started cooking. I cracked some eggs into a bowl and whisked them until they were nice and fluffy. In a pan, I melted a good amount of butter, and the kitchen started smelling amazing. Adding curry leaves brought a fresh and unique flavour to the dish.

The sound of the eggs cooking in the hot butter was music to my ears. The omelette started taking shape, turning a beautiful golden-brown color. The delicious smell made my mouth water, and I couldn't wait to dig in.

  1. Heat the butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat until melted and slightly bubbly.
  2. Add the finely chopped curry leaves to the melted butter and sauté for a minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour the beaten eggs into the pan, ensuring an even spread.
  4. Allow the eggs to cook for a minute or two, gently stirring occasionally to let the uncooked eggs reach the bottom.
  5. Once the eggs are mostly set, fold the omelette in half using a spatula.
  6. Cook for an additional minute until the omelette is cooked through but still moist.
  7. Season with sugar, salt and pepper according to your taste.
  8. Slide the omelette onto a plate and serve immediately.

It's these little moments of relaxation and trying something new that make holidays enjoyable.

I've never used curry leaves, had no idea they exist, so I learnt something today.

You may try to find these in any indian grocery.

We don't have any Indians groceries where I live, or indians, but no worries.
