Splinterland Proposals (Don't Forget To Vote)

in #splinterlands3 days ago

Currently there are two different Splinterland Proposals that need your voting on. The first being Make Runi Great Again and the second being a Draft Proposal named Raise the SPS Rental Floor Price. We will highlight the details of each proposal here but this post is more for reminding yous to utilize your staked SPS to help shape Splinterlands into the universe you want it to be. (What is SPS?) Good question, SPS is the governance token for the Splinterlands game. The more you have staked the more influence you have when voting on proposals. So how does one vote on proposals (another good question). Simply log in to your Splinterlands account and when you do so if there are proposals to vote on the site will notify you. Click on the notification and you will be brought to the voting section. Make sure you read each proposal carefully before voting as your vote has direct influence on everything Splinterlands related. This and many other reasons is why SPS is so important within the Splinterlands universe. SPS can be traded on multiple Dex's/ Exchanges including the Hive Blockchains very own TribalDex/ Hive Engine.

Make Runi Great Again

The purpose of this proposal is to address the many community suggestions that Runi should be able to stay in modern permanently. Some feel that more should be done to make Runi feel special and that this would make the NFT more unique and give it additional utility. Proposal information taken from the following URL: https://peakd.com/@clayboyn/sps-governance-proposal-make-runi-evergreen

If this proposal passes, Runi will remain available in both modern and wild formats indefinitely. This would make Runi the only "evergreen" card in the Splinterlands game. If the DAO would like to restrict Runi at some point in the future, a new proposal would need to be put forth and passed to override this one.

Raise the SPS Rental Floor Price

The purpose of this proposal is to allow the SPS DAO to vote on whether or not it would like to implement an SPS Rental Floor price as a temporary measure until a maker-taker style system could be developed for SPS rentals. There was polling done to determine what changes if any the DAO would like to vote on and this proposal is built based off the results of that poll. Proposal information taken from the following URL: https://peakd.com/@clayboyn/sps-governance-proposal-raise-the-sps-rental-floor-price

If this proposal passes, the Splinterlands in game SPS rental system and any third party automated rental services should raise the floor price of SPS rentals to 0.003 DEC per SPS. This change should remain active until either a new proposal is made to rescind this change or a maker-taker style system is developed where both buyers and sellers can set their desired price.

Did RentMoney Vote?

Heck Yeah I Did!

I voted No on Make Runi Great Again. We have lots of great assets in the Splinterlands universe. Runi is one of them and at current point in time I see no reason to give them special privileges beyond their original design. If we are going to try and bring extra value to past cards for me its obvious that doing so for the OG cards is the way to go (Alpha & Beta). So for that reason alone I have voted No.

I voted Yes for to the proposal known as Raise the SPS Rental Floor Price as SPS is very important to the overall Splinterlands ecosystem and taking directions to help increase SPS trade value or functionally will likely always get a Yes Vote from me. I believe this proposal does both.

What Is A Proposal?

A proposal is a suggestion to change something in the Splinterlands game or ecosystem. Players with staked SPS can vote for or against these proposals. Each staked SPS token will be worth one vote, so the more SPS tokens a player has staked, the more they will be able to influence the results of the votes.

Thanks for your curation efforts.

Same as you on both actually. For same reasons.

Excellent!

Its good to see fellow Hiven's/ Splinterlanders utilizing their vote.

I always vote on proposals, it's not only fun, but it's necessary to voice our opinions.

This time I voted exactly opposite to how you voted, I voted Yes for the Runi proposal and No to the SPS rental floor price.

I think your arguments for how you voted are great, and with these both proposals I'm kind of on the edge, I just ended up voting with how my gut feeling told me.

Good job with utilizing your voting power.

I voted no on both. Runi in my opinion should not be given extra play utility because it's so difficult to buy. However, it's not that big of a deal.

The rental floor is much worse in my opinion. Artificial floors are never a good idea.

Thanks for voting and sharing your reasons as to why.

Voting is essential in a decentralized ecosystem. I also voted positively for the second option. I think the value of the governance token should be much more supported.

Thanks for your input and reasoning as to why you voted in favor of the SPS proposal.

LEO Power Up Day - December 15, 2024

As much as I would love to get more DEC for my rented out SPS I kind of feel like it should be as is and be fair market. If it's at rock bottom there's a reason why which shows that there's little demand for the supply and thus it's really on the team to come up with ways to make it have more value. It's about to lose even more once SPS staking rewards dry up!

SPS staking rewards is something that didn't come to mind for me. Might have to consider selling some of my liquid to re-position. We need more ways to burn SPS.
