Bill Gates answered the question by himself.

Someone asked Bill Gates himself to know if there is anyone he knows who is richer than him in the world today?
Bill Gates said, Yes, that he knows someone who is richer than him right now. Bill Gates began to tell a story of what happened years ago when he was not popular in wealth yet. He said, there was a day, "I was in New York's airport, I saw a newspaper vendor. I was desperate to read but I didn't have money to buy. So I controlled myself and dropped the idea of buying and gave it back to the vendor".
"I said to the vendor, I am sorry, I didn't have enough money on me for this, though I'm desperate to read it. The vendor said to me, 'Take and read, I freely give it to you'. I took the newspaper from the vendor. Two or three months after I came back to the same airport coincidentally I saw the same vendor with some dailies, I saw a captivating topic I am interested to read, but I have not changed my money to buy the newspaper. The same seller again offered me the dailies for free. I said no to his offer. But he insisted that I should take the paper, he said "I will pay for you from my little profits, It won't pain me". Bill Gates said that he collected the newspaper from the vendor.
About 19 years later, Bill Gates said, "I became popular as a richman, all of a sudden, I flashed back to the newspaper vendor. I began to search everywhere for him. I searched for months andI found him. I inquired if he recognized me? He said, "Yes, you are Bill Gates." I asked him again if he remembered what he did for me?
The vendor said, "Sure! I remembered. that I gave you newspapers for free in two different occasions. I told the newspaper vendor to name anything he needs as a return of his kindness, and I will do it for him.
The vendor said something that gave me the greatest shock in life, He said politely "Sir, how do you think you can equate my help by this offer?" I asked him what he meant by that? "He said, "Sir, I helped you when I was a poor newspaper seller, but you want to help me now you are the richest man on earth" How does your help match up with my own help?" For that reason, he refused to name anything I should do in return of his help to me.
Bill Gates realized from that day, that the newspaper vendor was richer than himself.
LESSONS:
- The newspaper vendor didn't wait to become rich to help someone in need.
- We should learn that the true rich people are those who have a mind richer than lots of money.
- Having an expensive mind is more necessary than lots of money.
- The generosity, magnanimity, and liberality in rendering helping hands to those in need count so much than your fiat or digital money.
- Jesus Christ supported this in illustration about giving offering in the church.
And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them,
Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury (Mark 12:43).
