Could somebody please help me with a broom? I need to clear out these cobwebs on my blog - and in my head. So, Broom, anyone?
I couldn't bear to watch the month slide past without doing this. Couldn't bear to be a total unproductive sloth all month. Adulting really is one helluva ride.
Anyways, let's get right to it.
Every year in August, the goddess of fertility in African mythology, Osun, is celebrated in grand reverence - drawing worshippers and spectators alike to the peaceful city of Osogbo, in Osun State.
The ceremony is characterized by festivities, merry and worship, opening with gunshots and the Arugba’s one mile procession to the grove with the Oba in suit.
This procession soon builds up to an innumerable throng of observers at the Osun River paying homage, saying prayers, seeking favour, scooping the “divine” water and “feeding” the deity with an assortment of foods and items
Here are some highlights of what is ranked to be the 10th most prestigious festival on the African continent.
Have you ever been to the Ọṣun Festival? Please share your experience with me.
And before I forget, Happy New Year! Believing it's not so late to wish you a beautiful 2022. 😬😚
Cheers🍻
