[Digital drawing by me. Created in MS Paint on my ridiculously old laptop. No joke, it's ten years old now, and still going!]
An exciting chronicle of the adventures of a LOG. (Not that big, but certainly heavy and wood...) Sitting there being all...wood-like. If only it had some felt pens, it could have colored its leaves! It might have looked (and sounded and maybe smelled) just like THIS!

"Normalize Fragmentation" and a Dear Diary note by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Felt pen, gel pen, paint pen, and glitter pen on reclaimed cardboard with digital embellishments and color.] The parts are the whole. The whole exists within the parts. When the prism breaks the light beam, the fiction begins!
Dear Diary!!! Today is Thursday. I am feeling the beginnings of "THE ILL" that has kept Mariah home from work for the last four days. Hooray! Maybe I'll get lucky and have a less brutal assault, but either way, I'll keep the world in the loop! We can get thru this, folks! (Viruses will not destroy our creativity!) Maybe I'll psychically reach out to any Bigfoot People in the area and see if they can help heal me with their hairy powers... (Couldn't hurt!) ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"Maybe a Dog - Maybe a Dragon" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Digital drawing created in a free sketch app on my phone.] I like when monsters are a mixture of other animal traits, like dog and reptile. The wonderful world of fantasy... (In a digital framework.) ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"Sick Day (Barroom Voice)" audio by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
For the purposes of DOCUMENTATION, I decided to record an audio bit with my sick voice! I cover a bit of Devo / Subgenius in my chatter, as well as my best Andy Warhol impression! Thrills, spills, and bellyache galore!
The cover art is liner pen on notebook page with digital embellishments and color. Hooray! ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"Ghost in Energy Rift" and DEAR DIARY! again by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Digital drawing created with a no longer supported, free app on my phone.] DEAR DIARY again! My name is Richard F. Yates, and I'm an old, grouchy grandpa. (Stay off my lawn!)
24 Feb. 2024 - I've been sitting around in bed today, coughin' and hackin' and feeling yucky. However, I can't help but feel like I should be MAKING SHIT. It's what I constantly have the urge to do... For some reason, it occured to me today that most of the art that I've posted online (going all the way back to 2004 when I first discovered "blogs"), has simultaneously been AUTOBIOGRAPHY. I don't mean that just metaphorically in the images, but I'm also often using the "descriptions" or the "metadata" or the textual areas of a blog post or whatever to try to "TALK" to the potential audience. It's the same thing I was doing with zines and mail-art before I found my way online...
It's funny, to me, having all of these phantom conversations for so many years...DECADES... With folks who might or might not be listening! Ha! So that's something I might recommend. If you ever find yourself with hundreds of hours of freetime and nothing useful to do, go back to my MakersPlace gallery or my NFT Showroom gallery and read thru the "descriptions" of what I've bothered to publish, or dig into the PRIMITIVE ENTERTAINMENT WORKSHOP blog or my Hive/Peakd blog, which are blatantly attempts at connecting to peeps... So funny. Really trying to connect through art and writing, but if someone asks me to leave the house and actually TALK to them, nah... I'm pretty busy... HA!

"Lucy - Artist" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Digital photo taken with my phone plus digital embellishments and drawing.] Lucifer, the butthead cat, attempts to steal one of my granddaughter's felt pens to try to engage in some renegade feline art. Luckily, I caught her before she could finish whatever mischievous spellwork she had intended to perform... ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"On the Mend (26 Feb. '24)" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Gel pen on paper notecard with digital embellishments and color.] On the mend, maybe? I'm out of bed and doing some drawing... That's cool, right? (I think so.)
If you have an "aside" in a note to yourself, who are you pulling aside? And aside from whom or from what??
I don't know, and I'm fine with that... ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"Gets the Red Out" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Felt pen, gel pen, paint pen, liner pen, and metallic marker on textured, colored paper with digital embellishments and color.] When I was a young person (many, many moons ago), "baby showers" were a feminine affair. I'm not saying this to be mean or judgmental, it's just the way it was back in the stoned-ages. Anyway, in early February I was invited to come to my younger daughter's baby shower for the NEW KID, who is going to be joining us in just a few weeks, and I went - but because I'm a weirdo, I sat off to the side of the event at a little table that I set up for myself, and I drew pictures for almost the entire shower.
This is one of the many drawings I created that day... ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
